St. Petersburg Tampa Bay Holiday Christmas Lights

It’s holiday lights season – time to relive the magic of your own childhood with your kids. Each year displays get bigger and better but what really counts is the time spent together as a family enjoying the wonderland created at this time of year. See our list below for some of the best holiday light displays and tree lighting ceremonies in the St. Petersburg, Florida area.


Light Displays


Holiday Lights at Largo Central Park

Thursday, November 22 to Tuesday, January 1, 6:00-11:00pm

This family-friendly annual tradition presented by the City of Largo features a spectacular holiday light display, stunning carousel and seven-story Ferris wheel that offers a breathtaking bird's-eye view of the 70-acre Largo Central Park and more than two million dazzling LED lights. Admission is free, rides are $5 each. More info.


Oakdale Christmas House

Friday, November 23 to Thursday, January 3, 6:00-10:00pm

Prepare to be dazzled by an array of half a million colorful lights displayed over 1/2 acre. Check out an 18-train HO scale railroad, moving planes and carnival rides at the St. Petersburg home located at 2719 Oakdale St. S. This event is free. More info.


Holiday Lights in the Garden

Friday, November 23 to Sunday, December 30, 5:30-9:30pm

Join the Florida Botanical Gardens for a Pinellas County holiday tradition where the Gardens light up with 1 million+ brilliant LED lights to delight all ages. New in 2018 is an Illuminated Bird Walk that follows the newly created Wetlands Walkway. There is also entertainment, Santa photos and St. Pete Concessions on site. Suggested donation of $5 per person ages 13 & up for entry. More info.


Downtown St. Petersburg Waterfront Lights and Display

Saturday, November 24 to Tuesday, January 1

While you stroll along waterfront, see thousands of holiday lights and decorations in North Straub Park, South Straub Park, Pioneer Park, Al Lang Park and Albert Whitted Park. Don’t miss the giant greeting card display along Bayshore Dr. at Vinoy Park made by local teens from St. Petersburg’s recreation centers. Lights and decorations by City of St. Petersburg’s Parks and Recreation Department.


Lights of Lake Park Estates

Saturday, December 1 to Monday, December 31, 6:00-10:00pm

Come enjoy one of the best holiday light displays in Pinellas County! Admission is free but donations are appreciated. You can walk or drive through but please be aware that parking is limited. The Lights of Lake Park has raised over $845,000 since 1993. This Community Holiday Lighting Event is a volunteer project dedicated to Suncoast Hospice. More info.


Tree Lightings


Sundial Tree Lighting Celebration

Saturday, November 17, 5:30-8:30pm

Join in the festivities at Sundial St. Pete as Santa makes his grand arrival! This magical night will be filled with the first snowfall on The Mall at Sundial (yes, it's really going to snow!), a tree lighting, Holiday musical entertainment provided by Stay Tuned, face painting, arts + crafts from NOMAD Art Bus + more! St. Petersburg Santa Parade & Tree Lighting

Saturday, November 24, 5:30-10:00pm

Following the Santa Parade, Mayor Rick Kriseman lights up the downtown waterfront around 8 pm in North Straub Park for St. Petersburg's annual Tree Lighting. Stay after the Santa Parade & Tree Lighting to enjoy a night in the park with games, a marching band performance, concessions and more! More info.


Pinellas Park Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Friday, November 30, 5:30-6:00pm

Come celebrate the holidays as the City of Pinellas Park hosts its 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Pinellas Park City Hall followed immediately by Holiday In The Park! This community-wide family event will feature children's games, entertainment, prizes, holiday music, photos with Santa, hayrides, children's train ride and much more! More info.


Christmas in John's Pass Village

Saturday, December 1, 12:00-7:00pm

Join John's Pass Village for the 5th Annual Jingle Bell Seawall Tournament and the John's Pass Village tree lighting. The tree lighting will be at 6:15pm with a special guest arriving by the Madeira Beach Fire Department. More info.


Tierra Verde's Lighting of the Christmas Tree

Saturday, December 1, 4:00-7:00pm

Tierra Verde Business Partnership presents Tierra Verde's 8th Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree. The event features a visit with Santa, games for kids of all ages, live music and entertainment, a pet parade and raffle prizes. More info.


Holiday Stroll: Rockin Lights Family Fun Night

Saturday, December 1, 6:30-9:00pm

Largo's Annual Holiday Stroll event in Largo Central Park features over two million LED lights, entertainment and free family-friendly activities for all ages. Don't miss the Tree Lighting at 7pm. More info.


Seminole City Center Holiday Extravaganza and Tree Lighting

Saturday, December 8, 4:00-7:00pm
