Friday, January 18th
Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy
Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $6/child. 9:00-11:00am.
Terrific Tots at Great Explorations
This members-only program is offered when school is in session for children ages 1-3 and a caregiver. Join the museum for songs and movement, story time, an art or craft exploration and community time for tots and their adults! 9:30-10:00am.
Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library
Join the library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am and 11:00am.
Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library
Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for a Mittens/Winter Clothing-themed story time featuring songs, stories and crafts. 10:30am.
Snowman Rocks at Growing Up
Turn an ordinary ol' rock into an extraordinary snowman friend! You will get 3 rocks to paint for the price of the craft. Ages toddler+. Activities are included with the price of a membership or a Playspace day pass. 10:30-11:30am.
Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library
Put your engineering skills to the test every Friday! Build with LEGO bricks, KEVA planks and other fun materials. No registration required; grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.
Reading Fun Storytime at Childs Park Community Library
Children in grades PreK-2 and their caregivers are invited for stories, music and fun! 4:15-5:00pm.
S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Community Library
Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math with hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! For children in grades 3-5. 4:15-5:00pm.
Crafty Kids at Seminole Community Library
There is always something new going on at Crafty Kids. Whether it's crafts, science experiments, cooking, games, or stories, kids in grades K-5 always have fun and make new friends. Registration required. 4:30-5:30pm.
Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll
Looking for a reliable date night sitter? Join Romp n' Roll every Friday night for Kids Night Out. Each week will feature a different theme and children will get the chance to enjoy a pizza party, gym activities, bounce house and more! For children ages 2 to 5; $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.
St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club
Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.
Saturday, January 19th
Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium
This lively and huge outdoor market is open from October to May in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium. Live music, a variety of vendors and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.
A Very PJ Masks Toddler Time at Sky Zone
Jump and play With Catboy and Owlette! Just $12 per child and FREE Accompanying Adult! 9:30-11:00am.
Kidding Around Yoga at the Museum of Fine Arts
Join the MFA the first and third Saturday of each month for a yoga class specifically designed for kids ages 3 & up and families. Cost is $5 per person and includes admission to the MFA Collection galleries. 10:00-11:00am.
Kidz Korner at Vision Ace Hardware
Bring your child to Ace Hardware on MLK St. N to decorate a canvas bag. Free and fun! 10:00am-2:00pm.
MLK JR. Day Peace Dove Craft at Gulfport Public Library
Stop by Gulfport Public Library to participate in making a community peace chain in honor of MLK Jr. Day. The doves will be displayed in a community art piece in the children’s area as a symbol of peace and community spirit. Open to children and their caregiver. 10:00am-2:00pm.
Saturdays at the Morean Arts Center
Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. 10:00am-3:30pm.
Make & Take at the Museum of Fine Arts
Create your own masterpiece inspired by works in the collection and special exhibitions. Supplies are included. FREE with Museum admission. Recommended for ages five and older, but entire families are encouraged to participate. 11:00am-2:00pm.
Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum
Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.
Storytime at Barnes & Noble
Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "The Duchess and Guy." 11:00am-12:00pm.
Pom Pom Polar Bear Activity at Growing Up
Create an adorable polar bear using pom poms and white paint! This is perfect activity for the little ones ages toddler+ and is included with the price of membership or a Playspace day pass. 11:30am-12:30pm.
DillyDally with Dali at The Dali
Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.
Free Family Movie Day at Gulfport Public Library
A movie is selected to appeal to both children and adults and screened for your enjoyment. It starts at 1:30 pm. 1:30-3:00pm.
Sunday, January 20th
Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach
This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.
Aviary Tour: Red-Shouldered Hawk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve
Get a behind the scenes look and see how Boyd Hill Nature Preserve runs the Birds of Prey program. Have an up close encounter with the bird of the month. Cost is $3/adults & $1.50/children. 10:00am.
Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga
Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.
Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay
Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.
Return of the Battle of the Bands at Gibbs High School
MLK Dream Big is excited to announce the return of the Battle of the Bands! Get your $10 tickets to see some of the top high school bands from across the state and collegiate bands from across the country as they battle for bragging rights. There will be food, dance groups, fun and more! 5:00-8:00pm.
Monday, January 21st
In its 34th year, St. Petersburg’s MLK Dream Big Parade is the nation’s longest-running parade honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr! This legendary parade is held right in the heart of beautiful downtown St. Petersburg. The parade route starts at 3rd St and 1st Ave S and ends at Tropicana Field. Join over 50,000 others to celebrate Dr. King. 11:00am-1:00pm.
Join MLK Dream Big at Tropicana Field parking lots 6 & 7 immediately following the 34th Annual MLK Parade for the MLK Dream Big Family Fun Day for more free entertainment, information and fun for the entire family. 2:00-6:00pm.
