Shopapalooza Coming to Vinoy Park Thanksgiving Weekend

Move over, Black Friday. The BIGGEST Small Business Saturday (and Sunday!) celebration is coming to St. Pete just in time for the holidays. The 10th annual Shopapalooza Festival, presented by Localshops1, is back and better than ever, moving to Vinoy Park on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1.

With more than 225 local artists, makers, small businesses, and organizations from all over the Sunshine City taking over the waterfront park, shoppers will have two full days to buy for everyone on their lists. The best part? Admission is FREE and includes live entertainment, raffles, activities, and an expanded kids zone.

Kids Zone

Just like Shopapalooza itself, the Kids Zone is bigger than ever in 2019. Here, kids of all ages can enjoy the always popular Chart 411 inflatable Earth balls, crafts and activities from Great Explorations Children’s Museum, interactive exhibits from the St. Petersburg Museum of History, face painting, and much more.

Activity Zone

The all-ages Activity Zone, sponsored by Wannago St. Pete, will feature two days of scheduled fitness classes and activities including cycling, yoga, and more. This is where you’ll also find a giant rock climbing wall, bike valet, volleyball, and lawn games during both Saturday and Sunday.

Food Hall

There’s no need to leave the park for lunch with all of the delicious options available in the Food Hall. Callaloo, Pipo’s Cuban Cafe, Buddy Brew, and Pop Goes the Waffle are just a few of the vendors serving up snacks and drinks for everyone over the weekend. There will also be more vendors located throughout the park.

Seating Lounge

All of this shopping and eating takes a lot of work. Luckily, Treehouse Gallery has everyone covered with a 1,000-square-foot Seating Lounge located right in the middle of the park.

Live Entertainment

There are so many opportunities to catch a live performance at Shopapalooza. Both the Main Music Stage and Community Entertainment (sponsored by St Pete Music Factory) feature full lineups on both days. Other entertainment includes strolling performances from the Tampa Bay Ukulele Society and Thrill St. Pete plus live painting and sketching from Creative Clay, PublicArtProject.org, and the St. Petersburg High Visual Arts program.

Christmas Tree Display

Presented by the Council of Neighborhood Associations, ten St. Pete neighborhood associations will be showcasing their spirit with decorated trees representative of their neighborhoods in the first annual Christmas Tree Display. Attendees can drop a vote for their favorite tree in the People’s Choice Award category.

More

Need all your gifts wrapped? No problem. The Sunshine Senior Center is providing a Gift Wrapping Station. Want to adopt a new pet? You’ve got it. Limbo Chihuahuas and Skyway Dachshund Rescue will both be on site for those looking to expand their families. Want to save on some cool finds? Good news. Many local vendors will be offering doorbuster deals, free raffles, BOGO specials, and more.

Getting There

Localshops1 is making it easy to get to Shopapalooza with the FREE Shopapalooza Shuttle, an open-air trolley complete with a wheelchair lift. Find the shuttle making stops at both Vinoy Park (on 7th Ave. NE) and the Sundial Parking Garage (on 1st St. N) every 15 minutes from 9:30 am until 6:00 pm.
