St. Petersburg Fourth of July Events

Rain or shine, the Fourth of July brings a host of red, white and blue festivities to the Sunshine City. From Independence Day crafts and celebrations to spectacular fireworks shows and parades, we've rounded up something for everyone in your family. Scroll down to see where to catch all of the star-spangled fun this year in the St. Petersburg, Florida area.

St. Petersburg Fourth 4th of July Events

When: Wednesday, June 27 & Saturday, June 30, 10:30am

Where: Growing Up

What: Celebrate Independence Day by making an adorable patriotic windsock. This activity is geared toward older toddlers, preschoolers, and big kids and is included in the cost of a day pass to the indoor playspace or with membership.

When: Saturday, June 30, 12pm-2pm

Where: makeme

What: Spend your Saturday creating family-friendly crafts at makeme's Family Crafternoon. Children ages 4 & up are invited to create a variety of Independence Day crafts including patriotic hats and cool mixed media flag collages. A tie dye station will also be provided for you to create your own red, white, and blue bandanas. Feel free to bring a shirt to dye as well. Parents create with their kiddos for free!

When: Wednesday, July 4, 7:30am-10:30pm

Where: Gulfport

What: The City of Gulfport welcomes ALL to celebrate the Fourth of July! The day begins with Gulfport Marina's Kids Star Spangled Banner Fishing Derby at 8am and continues with the Gulfport Recreation Family Sand Sculpture Contest from 10am until noon. The parade on Beach Blvd. begins at 6pm, and the fireworks start at 9pm.

When: Wednesday, July 4, 10am-12pm

Where: Coffee Pot Blvd.

What: You won’t want to miss the always-popular Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association 4th of July Children’s Parade, which is as much fun for the adults as it is for the kids. The American Spirit Fife and Drum Corps will lead the parade down Coffee Pot Boulevard, and St. Pete Fire Department Station #4 will have a hook-and-ladder on site for the children to explore and learn about. Don your red, white and blue attire, decorate your bikes, tricycles, wagons, scooters, strollers and baby buggies and join your neighbors for a patriotic salute to the USA.

When: Wednesday, July 4, 10am-2pm

Where: Highland Family Aquatic Center, Largo

What: Bring the family and a blanket to enjoy your own picnic basket by the pool during this special holiday session. No alcohol or glass permitted. Splash's Snack Bar will be open.

When: Wednesday, July 4, 10am-12pm

Where: Kenneth City

What: Kickoff the Fourth with Kenneth City's Annual Independence Day Parade! The parade runs east along 54th Ave. and south down 58th St. N. Viewing areas are available along the south side of of 54th Ave. and both sides of 58th St. You are encouraged to get there early to set up blankets and chairs and settle in for the fun! The parade ends at Ernst Park where your family and friends can enjoy free hot dogs while they last.

Where: Great Explorations Children's Museum

What: Beat the heat and join Great Explorations for some 4th of July Fun! Create unique works of art using salt and watercolor, learn about colorful chemical reactions, and end the day with a groovin' Dance Time.

Where: All City of St. Petersburg Pools

What: Make a splash this summer with $1 Splash Days at all City of St. Petersburg pools!

Where: Astro Skate, Pinellas Park

Where: Celebrate the Fourth with Astro Skate! All day admission is $5 (skate rental extra). Free all-you-can-eat hot dogs from 1 to 2pm!

When: Wednesday, July 4, 6pm

Where: Largo Central Park

What: Come see one of the best firework shows in Pinellas County at Largo's 4th of July Celebration in Largo Central Park. Family and friends can enjoy great food, entertainment and activities for all ages, followed by a spectacular fireworks show presented by HCA West Florida, starting at approximately 9:15pm.

When: Wednesday, July 4, 6:30pm-9pm

Where: Museum of Fine Arts

What: What is more American than fireworks and a buffet? Fireworks and a buffet in an air-conditioned museum! Enjoy your fireworks with an amazing food spread brought to you by the MFA Café...one seating only (6:30p but you can arrive later) and your spot is yours all evening long, so you can enjoy a view of the fireworks in downtown St. Pete!

When: Wednesday, July 4, 9pm-10pm

Where: Treasure Island

What: The City of Treasure Island's Recreation Department invites you to celebrate the 4th of July with a fantastic fireworks show on the beach starting at 9pm.

Want to go? All day parking will be available at Treasure Island Park on 104th from 8am-11pm. The cost for all day parking is $15.


When: Wednesday, July 4, 9pm-10pm

Where: Madeira Beach Recreation Complex

What: Join Madeira Beach for its annual 4th of July fireworks display! Fireworks will start (weather permitting) at 9pm and can be viewed from ROC Park. Coolers, chairs, and blankets are permitted at ROC Park.

When: Wednesday, July 4, 9pm

Where: Upham Beach, St. Pete Beach

What: The City of St. Pete Beach will be launching fireworks from Upham Beach at sunset (appx. 9pm). Upham Beach will be closed for the day in order to fence off the launch area but viewing is available all along St. Pete Beach.

What: Enjoy the 4th of July on the Redington Shores beach at dusk!

When: Wednesday, July 4, 9:15pm-10:15pm

Where: Downtown St. Petersburg Waterfront

What: Join the City of St. Petersburg for its annual 4th of July Fireworks! Fireworks start as early as 8:30pm or as late as 10pm- depending on weather- at Spa Beach Park.
