Thanksgiving Break Camps in St. Petersburg

A list of 2019 fall break camps for Pinellas County students.

Believe it or not, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Pinellas County Schools will close for the holiday beginning November 23rd so if you're family isn't traveling, it's time to make plans to keep your kids busy over the break.


Whether you're working or need time to get ready for Thanksgiving festivities, we've rounded up the best camp options for kids in the St. Petersburg, Florida area. Click the links below for more information.

Bayside Thanksgiving Break Camp

By choosing Bayside for your child's camp you are giving them a time of fun-filled activities. The kids will stay busy learning gymnastics skills as they improve their physical well-being and self-esteem through gymnastics instruction, games, and relay races. Full- and Half-Day Camps are available! Bayside Sports Academy, November 25-27, 7:45am-5pm, ages 5-13, $55/full day, $40/half day. Extended care available. Register.

Boyd Hill Day Camps

Fun and exciting adventures await your child! Campers will discover nature and wildlife while being educated about caring for our environment. Fall camps include Sprouts Camp, Young Naturalist Camp, Turtle Camp, Earth Science Camp, and Pioneer Camp. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, November 25-27, 9am-4pm (extended care available, Sprouts Camp 9am-12pm), ages 3-13, $75-150/week. Register.


makeme Fall Break Camp

makeme's mixed-media half-day camps are the perfect way to enrich and entertain your little ones during breaks. Camps include awesome themes that incorporate many opportunities for making (including painting, drawing, collage, sewing, building and much more!) Experienced instructors keep camps engaging and exciting. Pre-registration is required. makeme studio, November 25-27, 9am-12pm, ages 5-10, $40/day ($30/sibling), snack included. Register.


MFA Grateful for Grasshoppers Fall Camp

From creepy-crawly to art, by golly! Discover why artists and scientists alike celebrate the essential role insects play in our environment. See how contemporary artist Jennifer Angus transforms thousands of insects into immersive installations as you explore the museum's special exhibition ‘The Grasshopper and the Ant’ and Other Stories, as told by Jennifer Angus. Then, meet a local entomologist, get up close and personal with live insects, learn why insects maybe the food of the future, and make your own unique creature creations! Museum of Fine Arts, November 25, 9am-4pm, grades 1-4, $40/members, $50/non-members. Register.


MFA Thankful for Theater Fall Camp

Be a star on the Ancient Greek stage! Trace your favorite stories and movies all the way back to antiquity as you travel through time, and tour the special exhibition Ancient Theater and the Cinema. Then learn your lines, create your costume, and perform a piece from Ancient Greece in a mini-movie of your own! Museum of Fine Arts, November 26, 9am-4pm, grades 1-4, $40/members, $50/non-members. Morean Thanksgiving Break Art Camp

Join the Morean Arts Center for a 3-day Thanksgiving Break Art Camp for Kids where your child will turn into a multi-media artist! Children will explore a variety of mediums in both guided and self-guided experiences. Morean Arts Center, November 25-27, 9am-3pm (extended care available), ages 5-10, $100/members, $120/non-members. Register.


Morean Thanksgiving Break Photoshop Camp

Join the Morean Arts Center for a 3-day Thanksgiving Break Art Camp for teens with teaching artist Lance Rothstein! Campers will take pictures and learn to edit and manipulate using Photoshop in the brand new Digital Lab. Morean Arts Center, November 25-27, 9am-3pm (extended care available), ages 11-16, $180/members, $200/non-members. Register.


Practically Pikasso Thanksgiving Break Camp

Campers will learn about process, technique, and art history while having tons of fun exploring and expanding their creativity. This is not a “keep them busy” camp, this is a genuine art camp. Projects include, but are not limited to, pottery, canvas, clay, mosaics, and more. Camp includes an optional field trip to Crescent Lake Park at no additional cost. The Sanderlin Center Thanksgiving Camp

Thanksgiving Camp 2019 will be coming soon! It will be held Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26. Kids can enjoy tons of games, prizes, and skating with trips to both Chuck E. School of Skatin Fall Skateboarding Camp

All skill levels welcome! Beginner, intermediate and advanced! Beginners will focus on the basics of pushing, stance, balance, ollie, turning, stopping, and basic street style and skate park tricks. Intermediate/Advanced will focus on the more technical aspect of skateboarding like kickflips, ledges, handrails, switch stance skating and more technical ramp and park skating. We will be taking trips daily to local skate parks while also having lessons and fun interactive activities. Your skater will learn and grow all while having a blast every day of camp! School of Skatin, November 25-27, 8am-5:30pm, ages 5-15, $150/3 days or $55/day. Register.


Sensing Nature Camp - UF Florida Youth Naturalist Program

This new program is for youths ages 10-13 and encourages a non-formal education setting with time both indoors and outdoors. The main concept is facilitating the youths to 'learn by doing' with overall learning goals of Ecology/Ecosystems, Ecosystem Services and Threats, Life Skills, Engagement/Call to Action, and Career Knowledge. After successfully completing the Florida Youth Naturalist Program taught by Sensing Nature, youths will be certified Florida Youth Naturalists! Weedon Island Preserve, November 25-27, 9am-4pm (extended care available), ages 10-13, $160/3 days. Register.


St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Camps

This very popular camp program is designed to give youth fun, engaging and memorable times while vacationing from school. Camps for elementary and middle school-aged kids include creative planned activities with trained coaches, indoor and outdoor rotating activities, and special events. St. Petersburg Recreation Centers, November 25-27, 7:30am-5:30pm (extended care available), grades K-8, $54/full pay, $45.90/reduced, $18.90/free. Fee assistance available. Register.


Vertical Ventures November Mini Camp

Vertical Ventures Camp programs will give children the skills and confidence to scale walls up to 40' high with ease. More experienced climbers will learn the skills it takes to tackle some of the more difficult climbs. Participants will learn the fundamentals of climbing movement, equipment, and safety. The experienced and supportive staff emphasize personal responsibility and encourage each camper to develop greater self-confidence throughout the session. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced level climbers are welcome. Vertical Ventures, November 25-27, 9:00am-12:00pm, ages 6 to 16, $99/members, $129/non-members. Register.


YMCA Thanksgiving Camp

3 days of Thanksgiving Camp include arts & crafts, games, rock climbing, snacks, sports, swimming, and ... memories, lots of fun memories. Plan to bring a sack lunch, swimsuit & towel, closed-toed shoes, and a sense of adventure. Jim & Heather Gills YMCA, November 25-27, 7am-6pm, ages 5 to 12, $75/members, $100/non-members. Register.
