4th of July Events in St. Petersburg

Rain or shine, there's no shortage of red, white and blue activities going on around St. Petersburg this Fourth of July. From Independence Day parades and spectacular fireworks shows to arts and crafts and all-day celebrations, there's something for everyone. Read on for our top picks for where to catch the star-spangled festivities this year.

Saturday, July 1

Please join Kenneth City for the annual Independence Day Parade and Festival! The parade begins at 9:15am at 62nd Street and proceeds eastbound on 54th Avenue until it reaches 58th Street at which point it turns right and heads southbound on 58th Street coming to an end at Ernst Park (4600 58th Street). Bring a lawn chair or blanket and sit along 54th Avenue or join your friends and neighbors on 58th Street for a patriotic celebration! Following the parade, there will be a festival at Ernst Park, 4600 58th St. N, with games, food, and other activities for the whole family!

The City of Gulfport has an amazing line-up of fun and exciting activities in the City’s downtown waterfront district on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017. Wake up early and bring the kids to the Gulfport Marina’s Fishing Derby at the Michael J. Yakes Recreation Complex’s (5730 Shore Blvd. S.) from 8:00am. to 10:30am. Immediately following the fishing derby is the Free Family Sand Sculpture Contest sponsored by the Gulfport Recreation Division. This event will take place from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Gulfport’s very own Municipal Beach. The Gulfport Merchants Association’s Tuesday Fresh Market will begin in the Downtown area on Beach Boulevard at 9am. It’s time to get creative at 6pm with our long tradition of welcoming local businesses, organizations, family and friends to join the City of Gulfport Independence Day Parade on Tuesday, July 4th. Bring your red, white and blue and register now at www.mygulfport.us/july_4th_celebration. At 9pm, a phenomenal fireworks display celebrating Independence Day will close the day’s festivities on Gulfport Beach.

Bring the family and a blanket to enjoy your own picnic basket by the pool, during this special holiday session. Please do not bring alcohol or glass into the facility. Splash's Snack Bar will be open. Prices are for groups of up to five people. $12 for members, $23 for non-members.

Don't miss Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association's annual Children's 4th of July Parade, complete with the American Spirit Fife and Drum Band and our own Fire Station #4! Wear your most patriotic gear, and children are encouraged to decorate and bring their bikes, strollers, wagons, etc for the parade down Coffee Pot Bayou.

Join Great Explorations for patriotic activities throughout the day. Challenge your friends in the red, white and blue relay at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Guests will also explore underwater “fireworks,” create red, white and blue visors, design stars & stripes flag mosaics and celebrate with an independence day dance party! Great Explorations Children’s Museum will be honoring the Fourth of July by offering FREE admission to all members of the military (active and retired) and first responders.

Come see one of the best firework shows in Pinellas County at Largo's 4th of July Celebration in Largo Central Park. On Tuesday, July 4 beginning at 6pm, family and friends can enjoy great food, entertainment and activities for all ages, followed by a spectacular fireworks show starting at approximately 9:15pm. Enjoy a pie eating contest (free to the first 125 participants), t-shirt decorating for $5, and inflatable activities for a $10 wristband. Admission to the event is free, activity wristbands will be available for purchase on-site ($10 each-Cash Only).

Join the City of Madeira Beach for their annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration! The fireworks display will begin at dark (roughly 9:15-9:20) and will be launched once again from a barge located in the intracoastal off of the Madeira Beach City Centre site. Viewing is available from the Madeira Beach Rec Center Fields which is FREE to the public. In addition to the Rec Fields there are prime viewing areas on the water at the American Legion and the Courtyard by Marriott in Madeira Beach and other waterfront areas.
