Winter Break Camps St. Petersburg, Florida

Winter Break for Pinellas County Schools is approaching, and Pinellas County students will be out of school from December 23 through January 7. Have no fear, parents! Many great local venues that host year-round kids' activities and classes are preparing holiday camps to help keep kids entertained and active during their time off from school. Click on the links below for St. Petersburg area winter break camps that will ensure a jolly season for all.

Camp for ages 5 to 12. Activities include rock climbing, swimming, arts and crafts, and gym games. Please pack a swim suit and towel, lunch, and closed toed shoes daily.

No school, no problem! Gymnastics Day Camp at Gold Medal Gymnastics is available for children ages 5 & up.

Details: Gold Medal Gymnastics (Pinellas Park), December 21 & 22, 9:00am-3:00pm, $50/day or $80/both

Campers ages 7 to 11 explore the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles. Through up-close encounters with a variety of animals, such as gopher tortoises, frogs, lizards and snakes, campers learn about ecology and conservation of amphibians and reptiles. Limit of 30 campers.

Holiday Break Art Camp for kids ages 5 to 10 at Morean Arts Center.

Details: Morean Arts Center, December 27-29 & January 3-5, 9:00am-3:00pm with extended care available, $95 (members) or $115 (non-members)/3-day camp

Holiday Break Glass Camp for teens ages 11 to 16 at Morean Arts Center.

Details: Morean Arts Center, December 27-29 & January 3-5, 9:00am-3:00pm with extended care available, $180 (members) or $200 (non-members)/3-day camp

Campers ages 7 to 13 experience a time when family, friendship and character were as important as food, water and shelter. Activities are adapted from the Association of Experiential Education to foster team building, leadership and self-esteem. Limit of 30 campers.

When school is out, camp is in for grades K-3! Campers will learn how animals stay warm in cold climates with hands-on science experiments and create penguin and polar bear themed works of art. Private museum play and visits to Sunken Garden take place daily during camp. Advanced registration is required, per day registration is available, space is limited.

For school aged children 9 and up, learn to knit and purl during the Winter Break. Must sign up in advance, yarn and needles additional at $14. Sign up for more than one class and receive a 15% discount with promo code "SchoolsOut"

Each day the Sprouts program includes a combination of nature stories, songs, games, crafts and hikes to explore the outdoors for children ages 3 to 4. The goal is to nurture a child’s curiosity, help them acquire developmentally appropriate skills and instill an appreciation and respect for our natural world. Limit of 15 campers.

Winter Blast for grades K-6 at the Science Center! Here are a few things planned: learn how the Inuit Tribe build igloos then build your own, make your own winter storm in a jar, learn all about sled dogs and other "cool" animals, see the science of the ice cube, and explores s'mores and the power of the sun.

Details: The Science Center, December 26-29 & January 2-5, 9:00am-4:00pm with extended care available, $60/day or $180/4 days

Bayside Sports Academy camps provide fun and challenging experiences under the care and supervision of highly trained and skilled coaches. Camps are offered for children who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2017 through 13 years of age.

makeme's mixed media camps are the perfect way to entertain and enrich your little ones during school breaks! Camps are for children ages 5 to 10 and include awesome themes that incorporate many opportunities for making. Experienced instructors and small classes keep the camps both attentive and engaging.

Campers ages 5 to 12 will experience a variety of art mediums including but not limited to clay, ceramics, mosaics, spin art, tie-dye, bubble painting, glass painting, etc. Camp will include educational components during project instruction. A kid friendly film will be shown during lunch break.

SPCA Tampa Bay’s Winter Camp will be the best present this holiday season! Your child (ages 6 to 11) will open his or her heart to all if the shelter pets as he or she learns more about pet ownership, safety and animal wellness.

Young Naturalist Camp focuses on nature and science topics for children ages 5 to 6. Exciting activities include nature hikes, games and studies of plants and animals. Campers explore the natural world, learn to share discoveries, work together, develop their personal creativity and have fun. Limit of 20 campers.
