Spring Break is fast approaching for Pinellas County Schools, and if you'll spend the week working, you're going to need somewhere to send your kids. Even if you have time off, you may want to schedule a fun activity for them to enjoy your own break.
The following youth programs come to the rescue with spring break camps to keep kids happily occupied and learning during the break. Be sure to register now, these camps fill up quickly!

This spring break camp at Weedon Island Preserve is a three-day, marine science-themed camp for students ages 7 to 11. Taught by UF/IFAS Extension Florida Sea Grant Agent Libby Carnahan, the camp offers a fun balance of educational and recreational activities to engage and challenge your student! Registration for the camp is first-come, first-serve.
Weedon Island Nature Preserve
March 13-15, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Ages 7 to 11
Cost: $100, scholarships available
Come explore the creative worlds of Art and Science! Join The Art of Science this Spring Break to learn about seeds, birds, eggs, and spring showers! Campers will make a seed mosaic, bird houses and nests, dye eggs, understand how water flows on rivers, and make plant crafts. On Friday, campers' families are invited for an exhibit of all of the kids' work.

When school is out, Astro Camp is in! This year during Spring Break, the skate center will be hosting its popular Astro Camp -- a complete day of skating and fun with no commitments at all. Simply pay as you go for the day or days you would like to attend. It's always a blast!

International environmental educator Amalia Fernand will take the campers on a tour of the world’s natural settings with songs and other activities that create a comprehensive picture of world geography.
Boyd Hill Environmental Studies Area
March 26-30, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Ages 4 to 8
Cost: $130
Campers experience a time when family, friendship, and character were as important as food, water, and shelter. Young pioneers will learn through activities adapted from the Association for Experiential Education to foster team building, leadership, and self esteem. They will also have hands on experiences at the blacksmith shop.

Spring Break Camp at The Science Center is all about Robotics – what exactly is a robot?, pseudo-coding and coding, gadget anatomy and simple machines, and MORE!

The School of Skatin has a fun-filled spring camp planned this year with amazing field trips to skate parks, lessons, clinics, and fun interactive activities. The camp caters to ages 5-15 and all skill levels, beginner to advance. Come shred!

$100 for all 3 days or $40 per day
No school, just fun! Children must have lunch, snack and closed-toed shoes with socks daily. Childcare paperwork must be filled out for this program when registering. Participants will go on a field trip. Preregistration is required.
Highland Recreation Complex

Camps at Bayside Sports Academy provide fun and challenging experiences under the care and supervision of highly trained and skilled coaches. Camps are offered for children who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2017 through 13 years of age.

Campers will experience a variety of art mediums including but not limited to clay, ceramics, mosaics, spin art, canvas painting, bubble painting, and glass painting. Camp will include educational components during project instruction. A kid-friendly film will be shown during lunch break.

Cost: $275 (full week), $175 (half-day week), $175 (tots), single day rates available
Kids grow better outside! Each day the Sprouts program includes a combination of nature stories, songs, games, crafts and hikes to explore the outdoors. The goal is to nurture a child’s curiosity, help them acquire developmentally appropriate skills and instill appreciation and respect for our natural world.

Explore the natural wonder of Florida with hands-on exploration, interactive games, field excursions, hikes, crafts, and songs designed to nurture the love of the great outdoors. Students will learn about our incredible Florida wildlife, the interdependence of all living things and concepts of conservation crafted especially for the young mind.
