Monday, March 11th
Madeira Beach Kids' Kite Day at Madeira Beach Recreation
Join Madeira Beach Recreation for a day full of fun and free activities: free kites for the first 800 children in attendance, free 4" Subway sandwich for first 1200 children in attendance, free sunglasses (while supplies last), and activities from Gulf Beaches Public Library, Madeira Beach Fire Department, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, and more! 10:00am-3:00pm.
Spring Break Stay-Cation Special at AirHeads Adventure Arena
From Monday, March 11 - Friday, March 15, guests can enjoy 1 hour of attractions plus 1 slice of pizza or 1 hot dog for $9.99/person. Add an extra hour for $5. 10:00am-5:00pm.
Spring Break: Family ART-ventures at The James Museum
When school is out, fun is in at The James! Get messy in the children’s studio Monday through Friday this week with artmaking inspired by the museum’s collection. Explore the art of watercolor painting and try different techniques such as watercolor resist and salt texture. Drop in at your convenience and join the fun; included with admission. 1:00-4:00pm.
Book Bingo at Largo Public Library
This family program will combine interesting stories and trivia with a bingo game of the same theme. Ages 5-12. 6:00-7:00pm.
Tuesday, March 12th
National Gopher Tortoise Day at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve
Help Boyd Hill celebrate gopher tortoises by creating papier-mâché gopher tortoises! These models will be used in a new program starting at the preserve in fall 2019 entitled, “The Science of Saving Gopher Tortoises.” Space is limited; ages 5 & up. Free. 4:00-7:00pm.
Street Lightning Clinic at Northeast Park & Paw Place
Have you thought about trying hockey, but were unsure where to start? Look no further! The Tampa Bay Lightning will be hosting a free Street Hockey clinic at Northeast Park (Clearwater). Street hockey can be played by anybody and everybody, regardless of experience level. No equipment necessary, but you are welcome to bring your own stick if you'd like. All participants will receive their own street hockey stick and ball to bring home with them! 6:00-8:15pm.
Wednesday, March 13th
Builders and Bricks at St. Petersburg Main Library
Children in grades PreK - 5 are invited to build the theme of the week or choose their own design at this free weekly event. 4:00-5:00pm
Astronomy Night at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve
Take a guided tour of the night sky through telescopes provided by the St. Petersburg Astronomy Club. $3/adult and $1.50/child. 8:00-9:30pm.
Thursday, March 14th
Spring Break Festival & Carnival at Madeira Beach Recreation
The Gulf Beaches Rotary Club in partnership with City of Madeira Beach will host the Annual Spring Break Waterfront Festival, which will take place from Thursday, March 14 through Sunday, March 17, 2019. This 4-day, fun-filled event will offer a collection of carnival rides provided by Arnold Amusements, live entertainment as well as awesome food and craft vendors. Admission is free; ride wristbands available for purchase.
St. Patrick's Day Crafts at Gulfport Public Library
Children in Grades K-5 are invited to join Gulfport Public Library for an hour of St. Patrick's Day crafts! Make a Leprechaun beard, paper shamrock, and magical rainbow. Free! 3:30-5:00pm.
Royal Palm Market at Intermezzo
Expect delicious food, a live DJ, and cool wares from local artists and boutiques at this pet- and family-friendly market! 6:00-10:00pm.
Friday, March 15th
Movies in the Park at Largo Central Park
Gather up the family, grab your blankets and join Largo Recreation for a movie on the big screen. Small Foot starts at dark. On-site parking and concessions are available. 6:30-9:00pm.
Shamrock N' Run at Ulmer Park
Live music, food, and drinks are all included in this St. Patty's themed event. Events include a 5k, a 1.5-mile walk, and a Clover Kids Dash. All Clover Kids will receive a t-shirt, Shamrock N'Ribbon, and kid's meal. Cost is $10 for the kids dash (ages 7 & under). 7:00-9:00pm.
St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club
Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Pack a picnic and bring the kids for a night of shuffleboard and music. 7:00-10:00pm.
