Tampa Bay-area Veterans Day discounts and events for vets and military families.
In a show of appreciation to all U.S. military personnel, past and present, businesses and organizations throughout St. Petersburg are saluting veterans and active-duty with events and offers of free meals, deals and specials to mark Veterans Day 2018.
This year, Veterans Day falls on Sunday, November 11th, with the federal holiday designated Monday, November 12th. This leads to a split with some businesses showing their appreciation Sunday and others Monday. Call ahead or click the links below for more information.
Events
Veterans Day Celebration
Mayor Rick Kriseman will celebrate Veterans Day by presenting awards to local veterans Maxine Cardinal Wehry and Terance Jackson. Students from the Gibbs High School Pinellas County Center for the Arts will perform the National Anthem and the event will be followed by a complimentary breakfast. Treasure Island Veterans Day Parade
The City of Treasure Island and American Legion Post 158 present the 2018 Veterans Day Parade. The parade departs Treasure Bay at 10am and arrives at the TI Community Center. A ceremony immediately follows at American Legion Post 158. Treasure Island, Nov. 11, 10:00am-2:00pm. More info.
Veterans Day Kite Festival
This is a family-oriented, free event dedicated to US Veterans that includes kite lessons, kite demos, public kite flying, and free kite making for kids under 10. Bring your own kite or buy one at the festival sponsored by Windworks. Treasure Island, Nov. 10 & 11, 10:00am-4:00pm. More info.
Heroes WeekendWhether you served in the military or serve on the volleyball court, join in the City of Gulfport and VETsports Heroes Weekend on Saturday & Sunday, November 10 – 11. Veterans Day Ceremony
The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center Campus. The event is open to all veterans, their family and friends, and the general public. Highlights of the ceremony will include speakers U.S. Representative Charlie Crist and local VA leaders, a musical performance, a parade of colors, and traditional military presentations. Veterans Day Ceremony
Join the Veterans Events Planning Committee to honor America's Military Veterans. The intimate ceremony at the Military Court of Honor in Largo Central Park will include a musical tribute, presentations and a key note speaker. The Dali Museum
This year, The Dali celebrates Veterans Day Sunday, November 11 & Monday, November 12 to honor our country’s courageous service members. Complimentary admission will be offered all day on both days for veterans and active duty military members with ID, plus one guest each. Special activities begin at 11am on Monday, November 12. Imagine Museum
The Imagine Museum is celebrating Veterans Day by extending free admission to any active duty, retired, and veteran with military ID through the week of Sunday, November 11 to Saturday, November 17. More info.
