Earth Day Celebration at Williams Park.

Earth Day celebrations start early in St. Pete! Join in any of the nature-themed activities found below to show a little love to Mother Earth this spring.

Friday, April 12th

Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $6/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Terrific Tots at Great Explorations Children's Museum

This members-only program is offered when school is in session. It is designed for children ages 1-3 and a caregiver. Join Great Ex for songs and movement, story time, an art or craft exploration and community time for tots and their adults! 9:30-10:00am.

Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am and 11:00am.

Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories and crafts with a "Books and Libraries" theme. 10:30am.

Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Put your engineering skills to the test every Friday! Build with LEGO bricks, KEVA planks and other fun materials. No registration required; grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.

Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll

Looking for a reliable date night sitter? Join Romp n' Roll every Friday night for Kids Night Out. Each week will feature a different theme and children will get the chance to enjoy a pizza party, gym activities, bounce house and more! For children ages 2 to 5; $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.


Parents' Night Out at Great Explorations

Drop off your children for a night of fun at the museum, while you take some time for yourself! Cost is $25 per member child ; $35 non-member child. Each additional sibling receives a $5 discount. Includes pizza, snacks, juice, museum play, Touch Tunnel, science demonstration, and G-rated movie. Ages 4 to 10. 6:00-10:00pm.


Movies in the Park at Largo Central Park

Gather up the family, grab your blankets and join Largo Recreation for a movie on the big screen! Ralph Breaks the Internet starts at 6:30pm. On-site parking and concessions are available. 6:30-9:00pm.

St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.

"The Stars of Spring" at SPC Planetarium & Observatory

Explore the stars without trekking far from home, for a price that's out of this world: Free. The planetarium offers two free public shows on Friday nights at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Shows are hosted by resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph and feature live narration with images displayed by computer-controlled projectors. Ages 5+. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.

Saturday, April 13th

Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

This lively and huge outdoor market opens at Al Lang Stadium every Saturday. Live music, a variety of vendors, and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.

Super Hero Saturday at Sky Zone

You are invited to a Super Hero family event at Sky Zone! Just $14 per child and free accompanying adult. 9:30-11:00am.

St. Pete Earth Day at Williams Park

St. Petersburg will celebrate Earth Day with a community celebration to be held in Historic Williams Park! Earth Day is celebrated by over a billion people in hundreds of countries around the globe. By celebrating Earth Day we join with others and share our common reverence and respect for this beautiful but fragile planet. This free event is Hosted by Chart 411 and The City of St Petersburg along with many other environmental and civic organizations. 10:00am-5:00pm.


Kidz Korner at Vision Ace Hardware

Bring your child to ACE to paint a wooden Easter egg at this free and fun event! 10:00am-2:00pm.

Celebration of Trees Day at McGough Nature Park

Celebrate Arbor Day with a day of fun. Meet an owl, take a nature hike, see a bird show, take home a free tree and take a picture with Sarge (for a small donation). Admission is free, and this event is open to all ages! 10:00am-3:00pm.


SWAT Sandblast at St. Petersburg Municipal Beach

TASCO Teen Programs and S.W.A.T. host the 20th Annual S.W.A.T. Sandblast. Admission is FREE and open to teenagers in grades 6-12. Teens can participate in beach games, bungee bounce, water joust, foam arena, flag football, two twenty-five foot water slides, live performances, DJ, prizes, and more. 10:00am-3:00pm.

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. 10:00am-3:30pm.


Bring the kids every second Saturday to the James Museum for fun with an artsy, western, or wildlife twist! Enjoy themed activities, including storytelling, a kid-friendly tour, and a hands-on art workshop. This month, explore the world of photography. Learn how to create your own sun print in the children’s studio. Best for ages 3–10; children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. Included with admission; free for members. 10:30am-12:30pm.

Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.

Saturday Stories at St. Petersburg Main Library

Stories, music, and a cool craft for kids in grades PreK-2. 11:00am-12:00pm.

Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Pete the Cat." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Insect Trek at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Butterflies, bugs and beetles oh my! Join Boyd Hill for a guided hike exploring the secret lives of insects! Fun and informative for all ages. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 12:00pm.

Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.

Children's Poetry Night Hike at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Celebrate poetry with this unique event tailored to children. Children will read poetry related to wilds of the night. This event is organized by Keep St. Pete Lit! Cost: $5 ages 3 and up. Space is limited. Payment at the preserve reserves your spot. This event is a part of the 5th Annual SunLit Festival running April 11-28, 2019. Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium

Cheer on the Rowdies as they take on Louisville City at home. Kickoff is at 7:30pm.


Sunday, April 14th

Sing N' Stroll with Music & Me at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Music & Me for a family-friendly stroll through Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. Spend 30 minutes learning about various wildlife in a kid-friendly way from Tom McGrath, aka The Muffin Man, followed by songs led by Colleen McGrath Lilley. There will be two walks, 30 minutes each, beginning at 9:30 and 10:15. $3.50/adult and $1.50/child.

Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.

Great Connections' Spring Fling at Great Explorations For this event, Great Explorations Children’s Museum will open early for children with special needs and their families to enjoy Great Connections, a sensory-friendly event. Great Explorations will close to the public, offer discounted admission and provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. $5/person or free for members. This special Spring Fling will include egg hunt, crafts, fluffy animal visits, and all the usual fun that our museum has to offer. 10:00am-12:00pm.


Alligator Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Learn about the American alligator, Florida’s state reptile, which calls our wetlands home. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 11:30am.

Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.


Spend your afternoon creating family-friendly crafts at makeme's family crafternoon sessions. Themes and content vary by month and season - but are always appropriate for a fun time for kiddos and caregivers 4 & up! Parents create with their kiddos for free! Sibling discounts are available. $30. 12:00pm.

Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.


Make it for Mom - Clay Planter at Practically Pikasso

A special clay class for any adult and child who, together, will hand build this adorable clay pot with child’s hand prints. Together you will create a pinch pot bowl and your child’s hands will be pressed into clay, cut out, and attached to your pot. Add drainage holes in the bottom and this could be a planter, or leave it without and it can be used as a small bowl or catch all. $36 plus tax for one adult and one child. $18 each additional guest. 3:30-5:00pm.
