Whether you have a free Saturday morning or a full weekend of festivities to plan -- if you’re looking for fun things to do with your kids in the St. Pete this weekend, Sunshine City Kids has you covered!

Friday, December 13th


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.

Preschool Art at Largo Community Center

Preschool Art is a monthly drop-in art program for kids ages 5 & under. Cost is $5/members and $10/non-members. 9:30-10:30am.


Babytime at Gulfport Public Library

If you have little ones under 2 years old, please join Gulfport Public Library for Babytime. There will be songs, books, lap bounce rhymes, and the opportunity to meet other caregivers with infants and young toddlers. Older siblings are also welcome. 10:00-10:30am.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Come join the main library for storytime featuring movement, music, and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am & 11:00am.


Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Grades K and up can put their engineering skills to the test! Build with LEGO® bricks, KEVA® planks, and other fun materials. 3:30-4:30pm.


Jolly Jam at Romp n' Roll

Join Romp n' Roll for the annual Jolly Jam Holiday Party. Festivities will include games and activities, treats, a moon bounce, the famous Bubble Dance Party, and pictures with Santa! Limited spaces are available; cost is $30/members, $35/non-members. 3:30-7:30pm.


Enchant Christmas at Tropicana Field

Enchant is the creator of the World's Largest Christmas Light Maze and Market coming to Tropicana Field November 22 - December 29. The event is also host to a bustling artisan Christmas Market, an Ice Skating Trail, seasonal food and beverage, visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, as well as exciting VIP and group experiences. It’s true - a world of Christmas wonder awaits! Tickets are on sale now. 4:00-11:00pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math at Childs Park Library's S.T.R.E.A.M. Club. Join in for hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more!For children grades 3 - 5. 4:15-5:00pm.


Creepy Christmas: The ART Ride at Pinellas Arts Village

Take a trip on this fun, immersive ride for the whole family! Roll through Santa's workshop during a battle between good and evil elves. From the folks who brought you the Terror Tent ART Ride. 6:00-9:00pm.

Treasure Island’s Lighted Boat Parade is like Las Vegas on the water – dazzlingly decorated boats of all kinds circle the city on one special night in a friendly competition for top prizes. The parade departs The Club at Treasure Island at 6:20pm, arrives at TI Causeway Bridge at 7pm, and ends at 8:15pm at John’s Pass. 6:20-8:20pm.


Holiday Lights in Central Park

One of the most spectacular displays of holiday lights in Pinellas County is back for another year. Come and take a stroll through over two million LED lights throughout Largo Central Park, for free! The Ferris Wheel and Carousel are available for just $5 per ride along with a campfire and food for sale each night, Nov. 28 - Jan. 1. 6:00-11:00pm.


Parents Night Out/Friday Night Fun at Highland Recreation Complex

Kids will have a blast playing fun games throughout the facility including the gym, PlayWorld, and the game room. The snack shop will be open for purchases. Younger children are offered separate activities in the preschool room and must be potty trained. Cost: HC $70/$140 per season, Drop-in fee: $7/$14. 6:30-9:30pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Yuletide Skies at SPC Planetarium and Observatory

Explore the stars without trekking far from home, for a price that's out of this world: Free. The planetarium offers two free public shows on Friday nights at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. when the college is in session. Shows are hosted by resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph and feature live narration with images displayed by computer-controlled projectors. Children are welcome as long as they are ages 5 & up. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.


SPBC Nutcracker at St. Petersburg Ballet Conservatory

SPBC Nutcracker by Servy Gallardo is coming Dec. 13-15 and Dec. 20-22! Get your tickets now at www.spbc.dance. 7:00pm.


Saturday, December 14th


Drop and Shop at Southwest Recreation Center

Need to do some holiday shopping? Drop off your children so you can finish all those last-minute holiday errands. Children will participate in games, crafts, and more. Lunch will be provided. The event is open to age 3 years through 5th grade. Cost is $20 for members, $40 for non-members. 8:00am-2:00pm.


Breakfast with Santa at Gladden Park Recreation Center

Santa Claus is coming to town! Join St. Pete Parks & Recreation for a holiday meet-and-greet and breakfast with Santa Claus at Gladden Park Recreation Center. Cost is $10 and includes breakfast and a picture with Santa. 9:00-11:00am.


Breakfast with Santa at Pinellas Park Public Works Operation Center

Come enjoy breakfast with the main man of the holidays! Pinellas Park Recreation Services will be serving the best pancakes in town, and guests will get a visit from Santa himself. Other special guests are expected as well. Participants can register at Forbes or Broderick Recreation Centers. Call (727)369-5684 for more information. 9:00-11:00am.


Weedon Walkabout at Weedon Island Preserve

Join in for a guided hike through the mangrove and upland ecosystems of Weedon Island Preserve. Learn about the coastal environment, native wildlife, and early history of the Preserve. This hike may be up to 2 miles (round trip). All ages are welcome but children younger than 6 years old may find this hike challenging. 9:00-11:00am.


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

Find St. Petersburg's Saturday Morning Market in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium every Saturday from October to May. This market is an extraordinary ode to great food, creative expression, and our wonderfully vibrant community. Come see what happens when you combine a Farmers Market, a Craft Fair, and a Festival into an amazing weekly gathering. 9:00am-2:00pm.


5k Fun Run with Healthy St. Pete at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Practice healthy habits while making new friends! All levels welcome. Meet at the flag pole in front of the Nature Center. Free; all ages. 9:30am.


Grinchmas Tree Party & Story Time at Practically Pikasso

Join the Whobilation! Practically Pikasso's Pottery Elves will be reading “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”. Each guest will paint their own Whoville inspired votive Christmas tree (upgrade to lighted tree available). For guests 14 and under. Guests 5 and up may be dropped off for the event. Register early, walk-ins not accepted. 9:30-11:00am.


Nature's Elements at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Kids ages 3-6 will enjoy nature walks, art, games, songs, and stories with environmental educator Amalia Fernand from Nature Explorers International. Nature Explorers from 1-4pm will have similar activities that are tailored for ages 7-12. 9:30am-12:30pm.


Pioneer Christmas Jamboree at Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

Bring the family for an old-fashioned celebration! Step back into time to enjoy a Pioneer Christmas. Take a hayride, visit with Santa, and shop for Christmas gifts. Free parking and free admission. Join in for a Victorian Christmas tea at the Endicott House at 2pm - limited seating call 727-893-7326 for reservations. (Tickets will be available at the door). Don't forget to enter to win a decorated Christmas tree and bring a canned food item or unwrapped toy for the food bank and the children's Christmas program. 10:00am-3:00pm.


Saturdays at the Morean Arts Center

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. Art activities are geared toward children ages 5 to 10. 10:00am-12:30pm & 1:00-3:30pm.


Alligator Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Learn about the American alligator, Florida's state reptile, which calls our wetlands home. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 11:00am.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "The Cool Bean and the Serious Goose." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Santa's Holiday Revue at Central Park Performing Arts Center

This fast-paced, rollicking musical that takes a joyous around-the-world tour of the dances, songs, and stories from Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and many more. Students will sing, clap, and tap along as they learn new and old traditions, customs, and folklore that instill the magic of the season. This wonderful jubilee creates a memorable and heart-warming experience that celebrates the true spirit of cultural diversity. 11:00am-12:30pm.


Come meet, greet, and jump with your favorite pups! Skye, Rubble, Chase, Rocky, & Marshall can't wait to see you. 11:00am-2:00pm.


Christmas Event at St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue

After the St. Pete Beach Christmas parade, join SPBFR for lunch, refreshments, and crafts for the kids. Howdy Doodles Ice Cream Coach will also be there with sweets. Don't miss photo opportunities with Santa, Rudolph, and Clarice. 11:30am-2:00pm.


Disney Junior Holiday Fun at Tyrone Square

Celebrate the season with family and festive activities inspired by your favorite Disney Junior pals near the play area. The first 100 attendees will receive an Exclusive Character Card. 12:00-2:00pm.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles, and arts + crafts activities that educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


Elves Workshop at Highland Recreation Complex

The Largo Teen Volunteers (LTV) will help kids create holiday keepsakes for the Christmas tree that will make long-lasting memories throughout the years. The little elves will enjoy tasty themed treats and play mini-games. No membership required. Preregistration is strongly recommended by December 9. Cost is $4 per person. Visit Highland Rec to register. 1:00-2:30pm.


Classic Holiday Movie Series at Regal Park Place

Between November 30 - December 21, enjoy a Classic Holiday Movie each Saturday for just $5 per ticket! "The Polar Express" is on the big screen this week. 1:00pm.


Winter Crafts at Gulfport Public Library

Make a felt penguin, melted snowman magnet, and beautiful snowflakes. 2:00-3:00pm.


Holiday Pops at Mahaffey Theater

Santa on the beach? Lighted palm trees? When you’re longing for traditional holiday favorites, there’s no place like The Florida Orchestra. It’s a jolly good time for the whole family. Daniel Black conducts. 2:00pm & 8:00pm.


Merry Beach Market at ROC Park

Join the Treasure Island & Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the holiday season with the inaugural Merry Beach Market. There will be a variety of local vendors, live entertainment including Rhythm & Boone from 4 - 5:30, great food and drink specials, and a FREE special photo op with Santa and Mrs. Claus. At the close of the market stay to watch the Madeira Beach Lighted Boat Parade kick off from the seawall at ROC Park. 3:00-7:00pm.


North Pole Express at Largo Central Park

All aboard! Children of all ages are invited to take the North Pole Express on a magical journey through the holiday lights in Largo Central Park to get to the North Pole. Activities inside the North Pole include crafts, games, cocoa, cookie decorating, meeting Santa, and more. Sleighbells will be given to each child. Pre-registration is required! 3:00-9:00pm.


Holiday Extravaganza & Tree Lighting at Seminole City Center

The Holiday Extravaganza at Seminole City Center will be decking the halls with fun craft stations, a hot chocolate and cookie decorating station, and a gingerbread creation station. The Extravaganza will also host a holiday fashion show, as well as a Kidzone with bounce houses and a face painter. PLUS PRIZES – While we are spinning the best Holiday tunes, we'll be raffling holiday giveaways worth over $2,500! And of course, Santa Claus will be available for photos during the event from 5 to 7pm. 4:00-7:00pm.


CLNA Holiday Movie in the Park at Huggins Stengel Baseball Complex

Join the Crescent Lake Neighborhood Association this holiday season to watch Kung Fu Panda Holiday followed by The Grinch (2018) under the stars on the historic baseball field at Crescent Lake! The movies will start at dusk. Bring a blanket and/or low chairs. Children are encouraged to come in their jammies. Concessions will be sold by the City of St. Petersburg’s TASCO Program. 5:00-8:30pm.

The Central Arts District, EDGE District, Grand Central District, Warehouse Arts District and downtown Waterfront District unite for the St. Petersburg Second Saturday ArtWalk. Studios and galleries stay open late to welcome visitors from 5-9 pm. Many ArtWalk studios/galleries celebrate the opening of brand new exhibitions during ArtWalk. Discover wonderful surprises, visit your favorite artist or find a new one. The Downtown Looper Trolley is now part of ArtWalk on Second Saturdays taking visitors to all of the galleries in the Waterfront District with stops every 15 minutes. 5:00-9:00pm.


Kids Art & Yoga Mini Camp at Peace of Yoga

Whether you are enjoying an evening out for ArtWalk, a good movie, or a long dinner, Peace of Yoga is offering a 3-hour mini-camp for parents to have a night out, guilt-free! Meanwhile, your kids will be engaged by activities promoting mindfulness, peace, and compassion using breathing techniques, Yoga postures, and meditation to help manage daily stressors and big emotions. Light snack and take-home craft included. Cost is $35/child ages 6-12 ($25/sibling). 6:00-9:00pm.


Pioneer Night at Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

Kids ages 6 to 13 are invited to enjoy a night of friends, fun, campfire, and s'mores, pioneer style! The cost of this drop-off program is $22/child. 6:00-9:00pm.


Holidays in the Sunshine City is excited to bring you Holiday Movies in the Park! "The Search for Santa Paws" starts at 7pm. Admission is free. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to settle in for a holiday movie. 7:00-9:00pm.


Sunday, December 15th


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take-home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, handcrafts, and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Baby & Me Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Baby & Me Storytime continues for caregivers and children 0-24 months old. Join in to read a book and participate in activities featuring sensory growth for your little ones. 11:00am.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in Clay Play Session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children (not recommended for children under 3 years old). 1:00-3:00pm.


Santa at 3 Daughters

Santa Claus, Kris Kringle himself, will be at 3 Daughters to take pictures with all the good boys and girls (human or otherwise)! Mrs. Claus will be joining Santa this year for an even more epic experience. The brewery will be accepting a $5 donation for photos or an unwrapped gift. All proceeds will benefit YMCA's Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program. This program serves over 300 families that are underserved in Pinellas County with children ages 2-12. In addition, there will be a cookie decorating station so you can have them ready for the big day when Santa comes on Christmas ($1 encouraged). 1:00-6:00pm.


Chess Club at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Does your K-12 grader enjoy playing chess? Are they interested in learning the game? If so, join the library for Chess Club to learn the game or put their skills to the test! This program is run by teen volunteers. Registration required. Stop by or call Youth Services at 727-369-0664 to register. 2:00-3:00pm.


North Pole Express at Largo Central Park

Come to Cassis and decorate your very own Gingerbread House for just $35! Guests can enjoy photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus and work on your masterpiece at Cassis. Or you can take home the all-inclusive package and decorate by your Christmas tree! This event fills up fast, so reserve your spot and Gingerbread House now!
