A list of kid-friendly events in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Enchant Christmas at Tropicana Field runs nightly through December 29th.

You did it! Whether you decorated the house, wrapped a million presents, mass-produced cookies, or hosted a houseful (or perhaps, you did it all), we toast you. And this weekend, you deserve to treat yourself to a little fun, manufactured by someone else. Keep reading for the scoop on St. Pete events for the whole family (and perhaps some holiday events missed during the days leading up to Christmas).

Friday, December 27th


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Preschool Character Program at Southwest Recreation Center

Join Largo Recreation for the monthly Preschool Character Program! Kids ages 5 & under will visit with new characters each month. The fun starts at 9:30am and costs $5/members and $10 for non-members. 9:30-10:30am.


Babytime at Gulfport Public Library

If you have little ones under 2 years old, please join Gulfport Public Library for Babytime. There will be songs, books, lap bounce rhymes, and the opportunity to meet other caregivers with infants and young toddlers. Older siblings are also welcome. 10:00-10:30am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories, and crafts with a "New Year" theme. 10:30am.

Enchant Christmas at Tropicana Field

Enchant is the creator of the World's Largest Christmas Light Maze and Market coming to Tropicana Field November 22 - December 29. The event is also host to a bustling artisan Christmas Market, an Ice Skating Trail, seasonal food and beverage, visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, as well as exciting VIP and group experiences. It’s true - a world of Christmas wonder awaits! Tickets are on sale now. 4:00-11:00pm.


Holiday Lights in the Gardens at Florida Botanical Gardens

The Florida Botanical Gardens will sparkle with more than 1 million twinkling, colorful, LED lights of all shapes and sizes from Nov. 28 to Jan. 4. Brand new this year will be expanded pathways and displays following the recently created Wetlands Walkway. Admission is a suggested donation of $5 per person over age 13. 5:30-9:30pm.


Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll

Treat your kids ages 2 to 5 and yourself to a fun night out! Parents get an evening to themselves while the children get to run, play, dance, and have fun with energetic instructors. A pizza party dinner and bubble dance party are included. Cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.


Holiday Lights in Central Park

One of the most spectacular displays of holiday lights in Pinellas County is back for another year. Come and take a stroll through over two million LED lights throughout Largo Central Park, for free! The Ferris Wheel and Carousel are available for just $5 per ride along with a campfire and food for sale each night, Nov. 28 - Jan. 1. 6:00-11:00pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Saturday, December 28th


Weedon Walkabout at Weedon Island Preserve

Join in for a guided hike through the mangrove and upland ecosystems of Weedon Island Preserve. Learn about the coastal environment, native wildlife, and early history of the Preserve. This hike may be up to 2 miles (round trip). All ages are welcome but children younger than 6 years old may find this hike challenging. 9:00-11:00am.


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

Find St. Petersburg's Saturday Morning Market in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium every Saturday from October to May. This market is an extraordinary ode to great food, creative expression, and our wonderfully vibrant community. Come see what happens when you combine a Farmers Market, a Craft Fair, and a Festival into an amazing weekly gathering. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Sky Zone's final Toddler Time of the year will be a magical winter wonderland! Come meet, greet, and jump with characters and enjoy themed activities. Cost is $16 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Sensory Friendly showings provide families with varying abilities the opportunity to enjoy a family-friendly film where kids can be kids in a safe and accepting environment. The auditorium is made brighter and the sound level is turned down. Dance, sing, and enjoy "Spies in Disguise." 10:00am.


Saturdays at the Morean Arts Center

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. Art activities are geared toward children ages 5 to 10. 10:00am-12:30pm & 1:00-3:30pm.


Jump into the New Year with Jiggleman at Barbara S. Ponce Library

A jumping, jiggling dynamo, Jiggleman tickles your funny bone without saying a word. This zany and fun act includes the use of giant balloons, an air-filled suit, and much more! Recommended for all ages; NO registration required. 10:30-11:30am.


Reptile and Amphibian Hike at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Boyd Hill rangers to explore the preserve hoping to cross paths with gopher tortoises, yellow rat snakes, southern leopard frogs, and so much more! This is a casual way to grow your knowledge about reptiles and amphibians. Cost is regular preserve admission; all ages. 11:00am.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "The Kindness Book." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Family Movie Matinee at Seminole Community Library

Join the Seminole Community Library for a free Family Movie Matinee every Saturday.  Free popcorn and drinks provided courtesy of the Friends of the Library. "Peter Pan" is playing this week. 2:00pm.


Library Legos at Largo Public Library

Children ages 5 to 12 can challenge themselves to create a new LEGO masterpiece each week. All materials are provided. 2:00-4:00pm.


Sunday, December 29th


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take-home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, handcrafts, and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


BYOBaby and Flow at The Body Electric Yoga Company

Calling all parentals: dedicate some time to yourself without having to call the babysitter. Join Abby Goodwin for BYOBaby and Flow: a session for folks and babes, with a mix of baby-wearing, baby-chilling, and yoga-flowing all in one. Class structure is loose, so you're free to get up and move around as needed. Cost is $20. 11:00am-12:15pm.


Baby & Me Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble every Sunday for Baby & Me Storytime to read a book and participate in activities featuring sensory growth for your little ones. For caregivers and children ages 0-2. Plus, get a coupon for a free tall, hot or iced Starbucks coffee (Café stores only). 11:00am.
