Happy weekend, local lovers! We know there is never a shortage of fun things to do with your families in the Sunshine City, but this post-Valentine's Day weekend is looking especially fun with lots of events for all ages. Read on for our top picks for February 15-17.

Friday, February 15th


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $6/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Terrific Tots at Great Explorations

This members-only program is offered when school is in session for children ages 1-3 and a caregiver. Join the museum for songs and movement, story time, an art or craft exploration and community time for tots and their adults! 9:30-10:00am.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am and 11:00am.

Cactus Canvas Activity at Growing Up

Give this HANDY succulent canvas to someone you are stuck to! All ages are welcomed to participate (12m+ recommended). Cost is $3 for members and $9 for non-members (includes Playspace Day Pass). 10:30-11:30am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories and crafts with a hugs and kisses theme. 10:30am.


Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Put your engineering skills to the test every Friday! Build with LEGO bricks, KEVA planks and other fun materials. No registration required; grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.

Reading Fun Storytime at Childs Park Community Library

Children in grades PreK-2 and their caregivers are invited for stories, music and fun! 4:15-5:00pm.

S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Community Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math with hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! For children in grades 3-5. 4:15-5:00pm.


Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll

Looking for a reliable date night sitter? Join Romp n' Roll every Friday night for Kids Night Out. Each week will feature a different theme and children will get the chance to enjoy a pizza party, gym activities, bounce house and more! For children ages 2 to 5; $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.


St. Pete French Fry Fest at North Straub Park

It's time for the 3rd Annual St. Pete French Fry Festival! Free admission, over 30 food trucks, live music, street performers and more. 6:00-11:00pm.


St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Saturday, February 16th


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

This lively and huge outdoor market is open from October to May in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium. Live music, a variety of vendors and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Tampa Bay Collard Green Festival at Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum

Learn why urban agriculture creates food security, a sense of belonging, improves community relationship and produces healthy food we all respect at the Tampa Bay Collard Green Festival! Taste samples of collard green inspired recipes, learn various cooking methods, shop fresh produce, and enter the cook-off. Children 12 and under have a festival to call their own at the TBCGF KidZone! Free! 9:00am-4:00pm.

Join Sky Zone for an awesome Toddler Time & Family Event! Meet, greet and jump with Paw Patrol characters, enjoy a light breakfast and play with family and friends on all attractions! Doors will open at 9am. Cost is $14 per child and parents are free. 9:30-11:00am.


During this beginning workshop, your child will learn all about the sewing machine and will spend time with lots of guided (and patient) practice! Students will learn how to thread a machine, fill and insert bobbins, sew straight and curved lines, basic pinning skills, and more. Afterwards, they'll put their new skills to use with a small sewing project. This class is the pre-requisite to all other kids' sewing workshops at makeme. 10:00am-12:00pm.


Ready, Set, Go! at Great Explorations

Come see, sit in and take photos with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg’s show car which will be in front of Great Explorations! The museum will feature Ready, Set, Go! programming on the floor of the museum that day with race-related activities which will include a sensory play car wash using shaving cream and an opportunity to build a handheld racecar using basic STEAM concepts in addition to regular exhibits and educational programming. 10:00am-12:00pm.


The Nomad Art Bus is coming to Allendale UMC! This FREE event is open to all and will also include face painting, chalk art, a photo booth and more. 10:00am-12:30pm.


PCCPTA's Health & Safety Fair at Largo Central Park

Join the Pinellas County Council PTA for a day devoted to health and safety awareness. Prizes and giveaways will take place throughout the event. Other features include performances, healthy snacks, free child IDs, and over 40 vendors. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. 10:00am-3:30pm.


Kidding Around Yoga at Museum of Fine Arts

The Kidding Around Yoga system utilizes the yoga poses or asanas creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more.  The class is specifically designed for kids ages 3 & up – families welcome. Cost is $5 per person and includes admission to the MFA Collection galleries. 10:00-11:00am.


Little Engineer's Club at HR Trains & Toys

Do you have a 3-6 year old that loves trains? Then the Little Engineer's club is a perfect opportunity for them to learn more about trains with a fun train-related activity. This month's Little Engineers' Club features Freight Cars! Cost is $10 per class and $8 for additional siblings. 10:30-11:45am.


Edible Wilds Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Explore what plants are edible and what to avoid on this popular guided hike. Cost is $3/adults and $1.50/kids. 11:00am.

Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "The Good Egg and the Bad Seed." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Make & Take at Museum of Fine Arts

Create your own masterpiece inspired by works in the collection and special exhibitions. This month, use the supplies provided to design and create your own Jean Schlumberger-inspired box to hold something special. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-2:00pm.


Imagine THAT! is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to drop in and have fun creating art and enjoy our collection of studio glass! Ashley Cassens Art will be teaching everyone how to make beautiful and colorful tie-dye origami kimonos! You can take your work of art home as a keepsake of a great time at Imagine Museum. Free for members and kids ages 10 & under; general admission for non-members. 11:00am-3:00pm.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.

Junior Scientists at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Bring your scientific observation skills to Boyd Hill's new monthly program! This month will feature Dendrology (science of trees) and a science experiment or project, and each child will get their own field notebook to bring to the program! This is a drop-off program for kids ages 7 to 12. Preregistration required; cost is $10. 12:30-2:30pm.

Drag Queen Story Hour at Community Cafe

Join Community Cafe for this love- filled edition of Drag Queen Story Hour! This event will be on Valentine’s Day Weekend so there will be lots of LOVE. All of the fun starts at 1:00pm, with story-time, crafting, coloring, and FOOD! 1:00pm.

2019 Suncoast Invitational at Al Lang Stadium

The Tampa Bay Rowdies will host the fourth annual Suncoast Invitational beginning on February 16, welcoming some of Major League Soccer’s biggest stars to Al Lang Stadium. D.C. United, the Montreal Impact and the Philadelphia Union will join the Rowdies for an exciting preseason series. 4:00 & 7:00pm.

Pioneer Night at Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

Kids enjoy a night of friends, fun, campfire and s’mores, pioneer style! Cost is $20, ages 6 to 13. 6:00-10:00pm.


Sunday, February 17th


Bayside Ninja Battle at Bayside Sports Academy

Come test your ninja skills at Bayside's in-house ninja competition. Registration is $45 and includes a t-shirt. Athletes will be grouped together by age. First three places receive a trophy and all will receive a medal. Stop by the front desk to pick up your registration form. 8:00am-5:00pm.

Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.
