The weather is perfect so get out there and take advantage of all of the great family-friendly events happening this weekend in St. Petersburg, Florida. We're sharing all of the fun things to do for kids in our Weekend Guide for February 22-24. Click the links below for more information.


Friday, February 22nd


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $6/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Terrific Tots at Great Explorations

This members-only program is offered when school is in session for children ages 1-3 and a caregiver. Join the museum for songs and movement, story time, an art or craft exploration and community time for tots and their adults! 9:30-10:00am.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am and 11:00am.

Kids ages 12m+ can paint a vibrant rainbow of their very own to hang for spring time at Growing Up! Activity is included in the cost of a Playspace day pass or membership. 10:30-11:30am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories and crafts with a polar bear and penguin theme. 10:30am.


St. Stefanos' Super Greek Festival at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church

Come dine, drink and dance --inside or outside, rain or shine -- at St. Stefanos' Super Greek Festival, a joyous, family-friendly, authentic celebration of Greek food, culture, dance and tradition! There will also be a carnival featuring State Fair-like amusement rides and bounce houses, rock wall, and games of all kinds to entertain teenagers, adults and kids ages 3+. Parking is free; admission is $3/person per day or $5/weekend pass (ages 12 & under, active military, law enforcement, veterans, ages 75 & up free). 11:00am-11:00pm.


Blessed Sacrament Carnival at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School

Join Blessed Sacrament Catholic School for a family-friendly annual school carnival including food, games, rides, and raffles! Wristbands and tickets available here. 3:00-11:00pm.


Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Put your engineering skills to the test every Friday! Build with LEGO bricks, KEVA planks and other fun materials. No registration required; grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.

Reading Fun Storytime at Childs Park Community Library

Children in grades PreK-2 and their caregivers are invited for stories, music and fun! 4:15-5:00pm.

S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Community Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math with hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! For children in grades 3-5. 4:15-5:00pm.


Black History Month Celebration at Enoch D. Davis Center

Learn about black culture and history with a fun night full of activities for the family, including readings, socializing, music, food, performances, a fashion and hair show, giveaways and more! Free and open to the public! 6:00-8:00pm.


Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll

Looking for a reliable date night sitter? Join Romp n' Roll every Friday night for Kids Night Out. Each week will feature a different theme and children will get the chance to enjoy a pizza party, gym activities, bounce house and more! For children ages 2 to 5; $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.


St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


"Winter Skies" at SPC Planetarium & Observatory

Explore the stars without trekking far from home, for a price that's out of this world: Free. The planetarium offers two free public shows on Friday nights. Shows are hosted by resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph and feature live narration with images displayed by computer-controlled projectors. Ages 5+. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.


Saturday, February 23rd


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

This lively and huge outdoor market is open from October to May in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium. Live music, a variety of vendors and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Join Southeastern Guide Dogs at Vinoy Park for a family-friendly, dog-friendly, make-a-difference Walkathon. Walk for a worthy cause to help provide paws for people with vision loss and veterans with disabilities. Help break a world record for the most dogs wearing a bandana at a single event. You provide the dogs, SGD provides the bandanas! This free, family-friendly event includes a 3K walk and a Waggin’ Tails Festival with live music, a beer garden, food trucks, doggie zone, kids’ corner, vendor fair, and an exciting raffle drawing. And of course, lots of dogs! 9:00am-2:00pm.


Come jump, dance, and sing along with the whole Frozen crew! Olaf, Anna, and Elsa will be at Sky Zone Clearwater for the most fun Toddler Time around! Just $14 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Nature Classes for Youth at McGough Nature Park

Ages 6-13 will enjoy a fun and interactive nature class with different themes for each date. This week's theme is Snakes! Cost is $3/class. 10:00-11:00am.


Kids can create an over-sized pillow that looks good enough to eat! Join makeme to sew your very own doughnut pillow from start to finish! Prerequisite: Learning to Sew. 10:00am-12:00pm.


Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. 10:00am-3:30pm.


Folk Festival at Heritage Village

Tap your foot to a variety of music and learn about life in the past through cooking, blacksmithing, carving, basketmaking and more at Heritage Village's Folk Festival! A variety of food trucks will have items for purchase. 10:00am-4:00pm.


Get Rescued Street Fair in Downtown Gulfport

Gulfport's Get Rescued is one of the largest animal rescue events in the state, with all profits to benefit participating non-profit rescue groups. Animal rescue organizations, many appearing with adoptable pets, take over Beach Blvd. to raise money and awareness for their causes. Additionally, animal-related vendors, artists and crafters offer their wares to festival-goers. Pet-related activities will include an adoptable pet parade, pet care education, pet services, a pet food  and supplies drive, animal rescue groups, free samples, training demos, a Bark-B-Que, food, DJ music & more. 10:00am-6:00pm.


Wiggle, Giggle, Sing & Dance! at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Enjoy this multi-sensory approach to music for all ages which includes a variety of song styles with dancing, bubbles, scarves, and rhythm instruments. Registration is required and space is limited. 10:30-11:15am.


How to Train Your Dragon Book Bash at St. Petersburg Main Library

Celebrate the How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World movie and all of Cressida Cowell’s How to Train Your Dragon stories. Join the Main Library for games & crafts at this free children’s event! 11:00am-12:00pm.

Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Martin Luther King, Jr." 11:00am-12:00pm.

Nerf Wars at Jungle Gym

Register early for this event that tends to sell out! Join Jungle Gym for fully-supervised Nerf Wars in a padded and air-conditioned gym. Guns, goggles and darts provided. Ages 6-13, $10. 12:00-1:00pm.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


15th Annual Chili Cookoff in the Grand Central District

The Grand Central Chili Cookoff is the District’s longest-running event and serves as a fundraiser for the GCDA, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The event will take place – rain or shine – along the 2400-2600 blocks of Central Avenue and will include the chili competition with over 40 contestants and beer tastings from 5 District breweries. 12:00-4:00pm.

Free Toddler Yoga Class at Kenwood's Organic Produce

Join Kenwood's Organic Produce for a free toddler yoga class with Kidding Around Yoga Instructor Leah Buttery! For toddlers ages 1 to 4 (parents/caregivers are required to be present and are welcome to join in). Please bring mats if possible. Don't forget to bring your grocery bags and pick up some awesome fruits and veggies while you're there! 1:00pm.

Lego Movie 2 Event at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for exciting activities including building a Mini Emmet's Dream House to take home with you, plus other giveaways while supplies last. Visit the Café and get a Blondie Blast for $1. 2:00pm.

Movies in the Park at McDevitt Park

The Pinellas Park Fire Department would like to invite you and your friends to Movies in the Park at McDevitt Park (7601 60th St N.) for a free outdoor movie - Small Foot! Movies in the Park will start at 6:30 pm, the movie begins around 7:00 pm. This event is outdoors so bring a chair or blanket for seating. Event is weather permitting. 6:30pm.

Sunday, February 24th


Wildflower Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

This monthly guided walk highlights native wildflowers along the trails. Learn more about what is blooming, and don’t miss a thing. Cost is $3/adult and $1.50/child. 9:00am.

Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Clay Keepsake Hands Bowl at Practically Pikasso

Practically Pikasso's resident clay artist will walk you step by step to create your own clay bowl out of your family's hands. Simply trace each family members hand on a piece of paper or cardstock and bring them in with you to create your unique bowl. $48 for up to 6 hands. $8 each additional hand. 11:00am-12:30pm.

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.

Blessed Sacrament Carnival at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School

Join Blessed Sacrament Catholic School for a family-friendly annual school carnival including food, games, rides, and raffles! Wristbands and tickets available here. 12:00-7:00pm.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.


Join Music & Me for an old style family sing-a-long while the kids sing, dance and play along at one of St. Pete's best craft breweries, Cage Brewing! Bring your voice, your dancing feet, your guitar, ukulele, drum, tambourine or any other instrument you like and sing and play along to some favorite traditional tunes. 5:00-6:00pm.
