Raptor Fest returns to Boyd Hill this Saturday, Feb. 1.

Let us do all of the research so you don't have to! Here's our roundup of family-friendly events and things to do with kids in St. Petersburg for January 31 - February 2.


Friday, January 31st


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Toddler Time at Sky Zone

Join Sky Zone every Wednesday and Friday for Toddler Time for$10 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Babytime at Gulfport Public Library

If you have little ones under 2 years old, please join Gulfport Public Library for Babytime. There will be songs, books, lap bounce rhymes, and the opportunity to meet other caregivers with infants and young toddlers. Older siblings are also welcome. 10:00-10:30am.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Come join the main library for storytime featuring movement, music, and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am & 11:00am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories, and crafts with a "Groundhog Day/Shadows" theme. 10:30am.


After School Adventures at Barbara S. Ponce Library

Join Barbara S. Ponce Library after school for fun and exciting drop-in activities. Get hands-on and explore and learn by making art, playing games, doing science experiments, building fantastic creations, and investigating new worlds through books! Grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.


Thousands of festival-goers will flock to the three-day St. Pete Beach Seafood & Music Festival opening this Friday. While dining on Corey Ave., listen to some of Florida's top musical groups in an array of genres. Admission is free. 4:00-10:00pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math at Childs Park Library's S.T.R.E.A.M. Club. Join in for hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more!For children grades 3 - 5. 4:15-5:00pm.


Join The Body Electric Yoga Co. for a grand opening party and ribbon-cutting ceremony at The BE Athletic. Take a tour of the place, peek in at some classes (or jump in there), and say hello to Mayor Rick Kriseman. There will also be live music, kids' activities and child care, Beauty Bungalow mini facials, and lots more! 4:30-6:00pm.


Parent's Night Out at The Littlest Trunk

Do you need some quality time with your spouse? Feeling the need for an evening out with friends? Want some quality alone time? The Littlest Trunk is offering you a kid-free evening! There will be snacks and refreshments for the kids plus games, arts, crafts and more. The babysitters are thoroughly screened and have passed all background checks. Cost is $25/child and $10/each additional child. 5:00-8:00pm.


Kid's Night Out at Romp N Roll

Treat your kids ages 2 to 5 and yourself to a fun night out! Parents get an evening to themselves while the children get to run, play, dance, and have fun with energetic instructors. A pizza party dinner and bubble dance party are included. Children do not need to be potty-trained. $25/member, $30/non-member (sibling discount available). 6:00-9:00pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Winter Skies at SPC Planetarium and Observatory

The cool winter nights offer some of the best stargazing of the year, with the great hunter Orion dominating the evening sky. Stop by and view the Great Orion Nebula, the Pleiades star cluster, and brilliant Venus with SPC's rooftop telescopes. Children ages 5 & up are welcome to attend the planetarium show. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.


Saturday, February 1st


Weedon Walkabout at Weedon Island Preserve

Join in for a guided hike through the mangrove and upland ecosystems of Weedon Island Preserve. Learn about the coastal environment, native wildlife, and early history of the Preserve. This hike may be up to 2 miles (round trip). All ages are welcome but children younger than 6 years old may find this hike challenging. 9:00-11:00am.


Kids Workshop at The Home Depot

Create a loving memory with your child at The Home Depot's Heart String Art Workshop. As you help your child piece together the symbol of Valentine's Day, they will develop hands-on skills by sanding, nailing, painting and more. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. 9:00am-12:00pm.


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

Find St. Petersburg's Saturday Morning Market in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium every Saturday from October to May. This market is an extraordinary ode to great food, creative expression, and our wonderfully vibrant community. Come see what happens when you combine a Farmers Market, a Craft Fair, and a Festival into an amazing weekly gathering. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Babywearing 101 Class at The Littlest Trunk

Join The Littlest Trunk to learn all about babywearing and how it can make life easier for you. Included in this session is a hands-on fitting, so bring your carrier. And if you don't have one, come to check out the dozens of options available. The event is free, but pre-registration is required. 10:00am-12:00pm.


Open Tree Climb at Pathfinder Outdoor Education

Pathfinder's trained facilitators take you through a brief ground school and then you can climb at your own pace into the canopy of a gorgeous live oak. Anyone ages 6 and up can climb - it's not just for kids! And it's FREE for every climber. 10:00am-3:00pm.


Saturdays at the Morean Arts Center

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. Art activities are geared toward children ages 5 to 10. 10:00am-12:30pm & 1:00-3:30pm.


Largo Central Railroad at Largo Central Park

Join Largo Central Railroad for a ride around beautiful Largo Central Park on the miniature railroad. The accurately modeled scale locomotives pull you and your family along a mile-long loop through great scenery, the spooky tunnel, and a waterfall pond. Fun for all ages! 10:00am-4:00pm.


Raptor Fest at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Boyd Hill Nature Preserve for a fiercely fun day celebrating birds of prey and featuring: trained raptors in free flight; presentations featuring Florida's native falcon species; dissect owl pellets with Sensing Nature LLC; photo ops with live birds of prey; environmental exhibitors; activities for children and families; bird walks; and much more! Food and drinks will be available for purchase. 10:00am-4:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Elmo's Birthday." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Open House at Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

Come visit a hidden gem of St Pete! Explore the Endicott House to see how many settlers lived and visit the General Store in the Brantley Building (the oldest wooden building in St Petersburg). Enjoy a visit to the Blacksmith, Print Shop, and Sawmill as well. Admission and parking are both free. 11:00am-2:00pm.


Florida Food & Brews Festival at England Brothers Park

Sample tons of great food and craft beer at this "Tasting Event for Everyone." Stay for live music, food and brewery competitions (including vegan and gluten-free options), shopping, wiener dog races, and supporting many non-profit organizations. General admission tickets are just $5 until 1/31; children ages 12 & under and parking are free. 11:00am-5:00pm.

DillyDally with Dali at The Dali Museum

Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dalí through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities that educate and encourage family interaction. DillyDally with Dalí takes place under the direction of the Museum’s Education Programs Associate in the 1st floor Stavros Education Center. 12:00-2:30pm.


February St. Pete Street Faire at Green Bench Brewing Co.

Join Indie Flea for the February Flea at their flagship location every first Saturday of the month. You will find 100+ artisans and vendors, food trucks, mobile shops, DJ Hello Darlin' Records, and more. Always free to attend. 12:00-4:00pm.


Storytime Concert at The James Museum

Join The Florida Orchestra's incomparable Woodwind Quintet for an interactive performance of Prokofiev’s beloved "Peter and the Wolf". Hear how instruments play different characters in this narrated fairytale. Arrive early for hands-on fun with the Instrument Petting Zoo! Ages 4-7 with adult. Space is limited, pre-registration required. $5; free for children 0-3. Fee does not include museum admission.

Sunday, February 2nd


Toddlerdega at Pro Karting Experience

This event is for mini-drivers ages 2 to 6 or Power Wheel-size drivers. Pro Karting Experience supplies the race track, you supply the driver and the vehicle. $5 pit pass per driver or $20 for Power Wheel rental/pit pass. 9:00-11:00am.


Sensory Sensitive Sunday at Chuck E. Cheese

Chuck E. Cheese offers a sensory-friendly experience on the first Sunday of every month at participating locations, opening the store two hours before its normal opening time. The Sensory Sensitive events include a trained and caring staff that works to ensure each guest has a fun-filled visit. 9:00-11:00am.


Birds of Prey Encounter at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Boyd Hill Nature Preserve for a 30-minute Birds of Prey encounter! Get an up-close look at a beautiful avian ambassador and learn how you can help birds of prey. 10:00-10:30am.


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take-home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, handcrafts, and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.

Alligator Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Learn about the American alligator, Florida's state reptile, which calls our wetlands home on this guided hike. Cost is $3/adult, $1.50/child. 11:30am.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in Clay Play Session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children (not recommended for children under 3 years old). 1:00-3:00pm.

Yoga and Mindfulness for Kids at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Children learn the basics of yoga and meditation through movement, games, and songs. The 2pm session is for kids ages 4-7; the 3pm session is for kids ages 8-13. Bring a mat and water. $10. 2:00pm & 3:00pm.


SPARK Lab at St. Petersburg Main Library

Children in grades 3-5 are invited to create and learn with activities that focus on S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math).  2:30-3:30pm.


Daddy Daughter Clay Date at Practically Pikasso

A Valentine's date with your little loves! The event fee includes juice and instruction to create beautiful clay hand/heart (a great gift!). Clay will be fired and ready to pick up for Valentine's Day. Cost is $18/couple and $12/each additional child ($20/couple for walk-ins, if space allows). 3:00-4:15pm.
