A list of kid-friendly events in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Let us do all of the research so you don't have to! Here's our roundup of family-friendly events and things to do with kids in St. Petersburg for January 24-26.


Friday, January 24th


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Toddler Time at Sky Zone

Join Sky Zone every Wednesday and Friday for Toddler Time for$10 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Babytime at Gulfport Public Library

If you have little ones under 2 years old, please join Gulfport Public Library for Babytime. There will be songs, books, lap bounce rhymes, and the opportunity to meet other caregivers with infants and young toddlers. Older siblings are also welcome. 10:00-10:30am.


Music and Movement at The Littlest Trunk

Enjoy a free 45-minute enriching class experience with your child focused on Music Education, American Sign Language, and Physical Development. This playful trial class will improve balance, coordination, and large motor skills while enhancing social development. Class will be followed by an exploratory play session. Space is limited so sign up early! 10:00-10:45am.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Come join the main library for storytime featuring movement, music, and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am & 11:00am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories, and crafts with a "Mice" theme. 10:30am.


After School Adventures at Barbara S. Ponce Library

Join Barbara S. Ponce Library after school for fun and exciting drop-in activities. Get hands-on and explore and learn by making art, playing games, doing science experiments, building fantastic creations, and investigating new worlds through books! Grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math at Childs Park Library's S.T.R.E.A.M. Club. Join in for hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more!For children grades 3 - 5. 4:15-5:00pm.


Located in the Kmart parking lot on 66th St. N, the Kenneth City Carnival, presented by Dreamland Amusements, returns for three days beginning Fri, Jan. 24. Parking and admission are free. Single ride tickets are available for purchase, or wristbands are $25. 5:00-11:00pm.


Kids Camp Out at Highland Recreation Complex

Kids will enjoy fun outside activities, learn how to set up a tent, cook a simple meal outdoors, and end the night making s'mores under the stars. Tents will be set up inside the facility for the indoor campout. The rooms will be separated for boys and girls. Breakfast will be provided and pick up is at 7am Saturday morning. Kid's Night Out at Romp N Roll

Treat your kids ages 2 to 5 and yourself to a fun night out! Parents get an evening to themselves while the children get to run, play, dance, and have fun with energetic instructors. A pizza party dinner and bubble dance party are included. Children do not need to be potty-trained. $25/member, $30/non-member (sibling discount available). 6:00-9:00pm.


Kids Night Out at Seminole Recreation Division

On the fourth Friday of every month, Seminole Recreation Division brings you Kids Night Out -- a fun night at the Rec Center full of themed activities and the chance to make new friends. This month's theme is "Rock Stars." For grades K-5; $15/members, $20/non-members. Pizza provided. 6:00-10:00pm.

Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Winter Skies at SPC Planetarium and Observatory

The cool winter nights offer some of the best stargazing of the year, with the great hunter Orion dominating the evening sky. Stop by and view the Great Orion Nebula, the Pleiades star cluster, and brilliant Venus with SPC's rooftop telescopes. Children ages 5 & up are welcome to attend the planetarium show. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.


Saturday, January 25th


Weedon Walkabout at Weedon Island Preserve

Join in for a guided hike through the mangrove and upland ecosystems of Weedon Island Preserve. Learn about the coastal environment, native wildlife, and early history of the Preserve. This hike may be up to 2 miles (round trip). All ages are welcome but children younger than 6 years old may find this hike challenging. 9:00-11:00am.


Paddle Lake Maggiore at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Here's your chance to see Lake Maggiore up close! Paddle with an experienced naturalist-guide and see all the living beauty of the preserve from an entirely different perspective than you are used to. Appropriate for beginners to experienced paddlers. All boats and equipment provided. $25/person (ages 8 & up). 9:00-11:30am.


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

Find St. Petersburg's Saturday Morning Market in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium every Saturday from October to May. This market is an extraordinary ode to great food, creative expression, and our wonderfully vibrant community. Come see what happens when you combine a Farmers Market, a Craft Fair, and a Festival into an amazing weekly gathering. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Museum Minis at the Museum of Fine Arts

Museum Minis invites children ages 2 to 5 years old and their favorite grownups to join the MFA in the galleries for stories, games, songs, and art. From shapes to colors and artists to animals, there is always something fun to discover. Inspire your little learner’s imagination as you explore the collection in a brand new way together! Free for members or included with the cost of admission. Advance registration required. 10:00-11:00am


Explore Project Wild! at Florida Botanical Gardens

Spend your afternoon at the Gardens, enjoying activities and games centered around Project Wild curriculum. All ages welcome! Registration is from 10-noon inside the Visitor Center. This event is free to the public, but pre-registration is encouraged. 10:00am-2:00pm.


St. Pete STEAMfest at Shorecrest Preparatory School

You’re invited to a FREE family-friendly, community-wide celebration of all things creative, inventive, imaginative and fun! Join in for hands-on, interactive, experiential learning geared toward children in preschool through middle school. Free and open to the public with RSVP! 10:00am-2:00pm.

Saturdays at the Morean Arts Center

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. Art activities are geared toward children ages 5 to 10. 10:00am-12:30pm & 1:00-3:30pm.


Chinese New Year Celebration at Great Exploration's Children's Museum

Join Great Explorations for a Chinese New Year celebration! Throughout the day, learn about the Lunar New Year (2020 is the Year of the Rat!) and this traditional Chinese festival while enjoying special interactive activities at Great Ex. 10:00am-4:30pm.


Transportation Buddies at Barbara S. Ponce Library

Transportation Buddies: Beep Beep, Vroom Vroom! Off We Go! is an early learning program for children ages 5 & under. Registration is required and space is limited. 10:30am-12:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "How to Catch a Dragon." 11:00am-12:00pm.


DillyDally with Dali at The Dali Museum

Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dalí through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities that educate and encourage family interaction. DillyDally with Dalí takes place under the direction of the Museum’s Education Programs Associate in the 1st floor Stavros Education Center. 12:00-2:30pm.


Pirate Invasion at Caddy's Indian Shores

Join Caddy's for a Pirate Invasion featuring live music all day, best pirate costume contest, giveaways & prizes, food & drink specials, and more! Ships will invade Caddy's around 1pm. 1:00-10:00pm.


4th Saturday Art Walk at Pinellas Arts Village

The 4th Saturday Art Walk in Pinellas Arts Village is here! Come and enjoy a fun free event throughout the Pinellas Arts Village and get a chance to meet with artists and makers. Explore the various locations and discover new art and treasures. 4:00pm.


Movies in the Park at England Brothers Park

Head out to England Brothers Park for the free Pinellas Park Firefighters Movies In The Park. The event starts at 7pm, and the movie will start around 7:30pm. There will be food and drinks for sale. Proceeds of the food sales will help the Benevolent fund to help victims of tragedy in the community. This is an outdoor movie so make sure to bring chairs or blankets. 7:00pm.


Sunday, January 26th


Pre/Post-Natal Pilates at The Littlest Trunk

Pre/Post-Natal Pilates is a free, gentle mat exercise class suitable for expectant mothers throughout pregnancy and mothers 6 weeks postpartum with or without pre-crawling babies in tow. Mats and equipment provided. 9:00-10:00am.


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Trail Detectives at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Most animals are shy and use their fantastic camouflage to hide from us. So how do we know animals are around us when we cannot see them? Put your trail detective skills to the test to find what animals are present here at the preserve. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 10:00-11:30am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take-home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, handcrafts, and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Alligator Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Learn about the American alligator, Florida's state reptile, which calls our wetlands home on this guided hike. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 11:30am.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in Clay Play Session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children (not recommended for children under 3 years old). 1:00-3:00pm.
