Happy summer, St. Petersburg! Things are heating up in the Sunshine City while one of the biggest St. Pete celebrations of the year is here. Read on for our top family-friendly picks for St. Pete Pride and more.

Friday, June 21st


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Itty Bitty Splashtime at Highland Family Aquatic Center

Enjoy companionship of other parents and caregivers while children play together in a safe aquatic environment. Mom’s clubs are welcome. Children not potty trained must wear a vinyl swim diaper under their bathing suit. Vinyl diapers are available for sale at the facility. $1.50/child. 9:45-10:45am.


Music & Motion at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for literacy programs featuring dance and music for children ages 1-5 with their caregivers. 10:15am and 11:00am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join the library for songs, stories, and crafts with a "summer" theme. 10:30am.


Snacks & Storytime at St. Pete Beach Public Library

Be amazed by a space-themed story where the listeners get to determine how the story unfolds. Stay for tasty snacks. For ages 5 to 12. 11:00am-12:00pm.


A Universe of Stories at Childs Park Recreation Center

Students entering grades K-2 can explore the universe with stories, participation activities, music, games, and crafts. 2:00-3:00pm.


Summer LEGO Robotics Club at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Students entering grades 3-12 can work together using LEGO® WeDo 2.0 kits to learn how to build and program a robot!  Make a sound machine, dancing robot, explore space, and much more!  Design robots using the same materials that are used in the World Robot Olympiad and First LEGO® League Jr. Registration required. 3:30pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Recreation Center

Children in grades 3-5 can explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math at the library's S.T.R.E.A.M. Club. Join in for hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! 4:00-5:00pm.


Kid's Night Out at Romp N Roll

Drop your kids off for three hours of fun, playtime, crafts, and dinner, all led by fun, energetic instructors. For kids ages 2-5; cost is $25/members, $30/non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.


Join Gulf to Bay Food Truck Association for awesome food, craft beers, and live music at the 2nd Annual St. Pete Street Food & Craft Beer Fest. Free admission; pet- and kid-friendly. 6:00-11:00pm.


Flick N Float at Southwest Pool

Bring your favorite float or chair from home and join Largo Rec for a Friday night family movie. Vendors will be onsite with snacks for sale. Movie will begin at 7pm. Tonight's movie is "Bernie the Dolphin." Cost is $5/person; open to all ages. 6:30-10:00pm.


Flick & Float at Shore Acres Pool

Flick & Float Movie Night at the Pool is back with new movie nights, happening every Friday starting June 7th. The event is hosted by the City of St. Petersburg's Aquatics Division. "Captain Underpants" is on the big screen this week. $2/ages 3-12, $3/ages 13 & up. 7:00-10:00pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Summer Skies at SPC Planetarium

Explore the stars without trekking far from home, for a price that's out of this world: free! The planetarium offers two free public shows on Friday nights at 7 pm and 8:15 pm when the college is in session. Shows are hosted by resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph and feature live narration with images displayed by computer-controlled projectors. Ages 5 & up. 7pm & 8:15pm.


Movie on the Beach at Archibald Memorial Beach Park

Pack a cooler and bring your chairs or blanket to Archibald Memorial Beach Park for a shark movie showing hosted by Madeira Beach Recreation. 8:30-11:30pm.


Saturday, June 22nd


Splash & Dash at St. Pete Beach Community Center

Join the St. Pete Beach Recreation Department's Inaugural Splash & Dash youth biathlon! Kids ages 6-15 are encouraged to join, and all racers will receive a free swim cap and goody bag. Sign up today at spbrec.com. All participants must be able to swim independently. 7:00am-12:00pm.


Member Mornings at Great Explorations Children's Museum

On Saturday mornings in June and July, Great Ex opens their doors an hour early for Members only! Enjoy this quiet time on the museum floor as their way of saying thank you for being members and supporting the museum all year long. 9:00-10:00am.


Saturday Morning Market at Williams Park

Join the Saturday Morning Market for the Williams Park Summer Market! There will be live music and vendors with fresh produce, read-to-eat foods, drinks, crafts, art, and more! This event will run every Saturday from June 1st until August 31st. 9:00am-1:00pm.


Come meet. greet, and jump with Rocky, Skye, Chase, and Marshall at Sky Zone's Jump With The Pups Event! Tickets are $14 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Drag Queen Storytime at Kenwood's Organic Produce

Kenwood's Organic Produce will welcome Beneva Fruitville (performance artist Berry Ayers) to read to children ages 8 and under for Drag Queen Storytime. Pride-themed breakfast pastries will be for sale to commemorate the free event. This is an excellent opportunity to allow families to celebrate in Pride activities during daylight hours. Bring your reusable produce bags and stock up on local and organic produce, too! 10:00-11:30am.


A Universe of Stories at the St. Petersburg Main Library

Explore the universe with stories, participation activities, music, games, and crafts for kids in grades K-2. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Toy Story 4: Forky in Craft Buddy Day." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Alligator Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Learn about the American alligator, Florida’s state reptile, which calls our wetlands home in this ranger-led walk. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 11:30am.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


Slip 'N Slide into Summer at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Friends of Boyd Hill at this free members-only appreciation event featuring inflatable water slides and light refreshments. Registration required. 12:00-4:00pm.


Creature Feature at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Live animal encounter! Learn interesting facts about a program animal featured at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve every Saturday and Sunday. 2:00pm.


St. Pete Pride in Downtown St. Petersburg

The LGBT Pride Parade will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 in downtown St Petersburg. The party begins at 2pm, with the Parade kicking off at 6:30pm and concluding around 9:30pm. Entertainment in multiple venues throughout the day! 2:00-10:30pm.


Sunday, June 23rd


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Bird of Prey Talk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Boyd Hill for a 30 minute bird of prey show every Sunday! Get an up close look at a beautiful avian ambassador and learn how you can help birds of prey. Included with preserve admission. 10:00am.


St. Pete Pride Street Festival in the Grand Central District

Drawing more than 50,000 people, the St Pete Pride Street Festival will again be the largest community event of the season as festival goers come together to make history while enjoying a day of live performances and entertainment, community booths, art and fantastic food in paradise. 11:00am-5:00pm.


Join Indie Flea for a special summer pop up market series at St Pete Shuffleboard Club! Indoor Flea with 60+ vendors and mobile shops, Shuffleboard, Brunch and Cocktails! Always free admission. 12:00-4:00pm.


Chess Club at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Does your child enjoy playing chess? Is he/she interested in learning the game?  If so, join the library for Chess Club run by the teen volunteers. Grades K to 12; registration required. 1:30pm.
