It's hot. Really, really hot. And if your kids need some fun outside of the house, we've got lots of indoor and cool ways to beat the Florida heat this weekend.

Friday, June 28th


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Join Sky Zone this Friday for an extra special Toddler Time with special guests PJ Masks! Come jump, play, and flip with Catboy, Owlette, & Gecko! Just $10 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Itty Bitty Splashtime at Highland Family Aquatic Center

Enjoy companionship of other parents and caregivers while children play together in a safe aquatic environment. Mom’s clubs are welcome. Children not potty trained must wear a vinyl swim diaper under their bathing suit. Vinyl diapers are available for sale at the facility. $1.50/child. 9:45-10:45am.


Music & Motion at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for literacy programs featuring dance and music for children ages 1-5 with their caregivers. 10:15am and 11:00am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join the library for songs, stories, and crafts with a "4th of July" theme. 10:30am.


It's summertime and Healthy St. Pete is bringing you some summer fun in the park. Enjoy games, family activities and more, along with FREE lunch for children. 11:00am-1:00pm.


A Universe of Stories at Childs Park Recreation Center

Students entering grades K-2 can explore the universe with stories, participation activities, music, games, and crafts. 2:00-3:00pm.


Summer LEGO Robotics Club at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Students entering grades 3-12 can work together using LEGO® WeDo 2.0 kits to learn how to build and program a robot!  Make a sound machine, dancing robot, explore space, and much more!  Design robots using the same materials that are used in the World Robot Olympiad and First LEGO® League Jr. Registration required. 3:30pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Recreation Center

Children in grades 3-5 can explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math at the library's S.T.R.E.A.M. Club. Join in for hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! 4:00-5:00pm.


Kid's Night Out at Romp N' Roll

Treat your kids ages 2 to 5 and yourself to a fun night out! Kid’s night out is the perfect date night for you! Parents get an evening to themselves while the children get to run, play, dance, and have fun with Romp n' Roll's energetic instructors. They even include a pizza party dinner and famous bubble dance party. $25/members, $30/non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.


Skyview Cinemas at Skyview Aquatics Complex

Bring the family to watch Ralph Breaks the Internet while floating at Skyview Aquatics Center courtesy of Pinellas Park Recreation Services. Music, games, prizes, and a movie in the pool for only $2.00 per person! Doors open at 6:30pm, and the movie starts at dusk. 6:30pm.

Mary Poppins Jr. at Catherine A. Hickman Theater

St Pete Music, Acting, and Dance Summer Camp Theater production of your favorite practically perfect nanny takes center stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious adventure based on the award-winning Broadway musical and classic Walt Disney film. 7:00-9:00pm.


Flick & Float at E.H. McLin Pool

Flick & Float Movie Night at the Pool is back with new movie nights, happening every Friday starting June 7th. The event is hosted by the City of St. Petersburg's Aquatics Division. "Kung Fu Panda 2" is on the big screen this week. $2/ages 3-12, $3/ages 13 & up. 7:00-10:00pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Summer Skies at SPC Planetarium

Explore the stars without trekking far from home, for a price that's out of this world: free! The planetarium offers two free public shows on Friday nights at 7 pm and 8:15 pm when the college is in session. Shows are hosted by resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph and feature live narration with images displayed by computer-controlled projectors. Ages 5 & up. 7pm & 8:15pm.


TB Rays at Tropicana Field

Come out to see the Rays take on the Rangers at home. Take advantage of $7.11 ticket night by stopping in to any participating 7-Eleven to pick up a ticket voucher to redeem at The Trop. 7:10pm.


Saturday, June 29th


Member Mornings at Great Explorations Children's Museum

On Saturday mornings in June and July, Great Ex opens their doors an hour early for Members only! Enjoy this quiet time on the museum floor as their way of saying thank you for being members and supporting the museum all year long. 9:00-10:00am.


Saturday Morning Market at Williams Park

Join the Saturday Morning Market for the Williams Park Summer Market! There will be live music and vendors with fresh produce, read-to-eat foods, drinks, crafts, art, and more! This event will run every Saturday from June 1st until August 31st. 9:00am-1:00pm.


Come meet, greet, and jump with Doc McStuffins! Tickets are $14 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


A Universe of Stories at the St. Petersburg Main Library

Explore the universe with stories, participation activities, music, games, and crafts for kids in grades K-2. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a Pride Storytime that celebrates diversity. Enjoy fun-filled activities, and get a coupon from the Café for a grilled cheese sandwich with milk or juice for $4 (Café stores only). 11:00am-12:00pm.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.

Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field

Cheer on the Rays at home as they play the Rangers. All fans get an umbrella while supplies last. 4:10pm.


Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium

See the Rowdies take on the Ottawa Fury at home. 8:00pm.


Sunday, June 30th


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Bird of Prey Talk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Boyd Hill for a 30 minute bird of prey show every Sunday! Get an up close look at a beautiful avian ambassador and learn how you can help birds of prey. Included with preserve admission. 10:00am.


Baby & Me Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Don't miss the introduction of Barnes & Noble's new Baby & Me Storytime for caregivers and children 0-24 months old. Join in to read a book and participate in activities building language skills for your little ones. 11:00am.
