Sip N Sing with Music & Me at Cage Brewing

Summer break is in full swing in the Sunshine City, and we've rounded up lots of family-friendly events and activities happening around St. Pete this weekend. Click the links below for more information.


Friday, June 7th


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Itty Bitty Splashtime at Highland Family Aquatic Center

Enjoy companionship of other parents and caregivers while children play together in a safe aquatic environment. Mom’s clubs are welcome. Children not potty trained must wear a vinyl swim diaper under their bathing suit. Vinyl diapers are available for sale at the facility. $1.50/child. 9:45-10:45am.


Come out, get moving, have fun, and meet other local moms in this monthly First Friday FREE Baby Boot Camp class at the Sundial. Hang out after class and grab coffee at Locale Market to connect more. Please register online in advance at www.BabyBootCamp.com and bring a yoga mat or large towel. 10:00-11:00am.


Music & Motion at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for literacy programs featuring dance and music for children ages 1-5 with their caregivers. 10:15am and 11:00am.


A Universe of Stories at Childs Park Recreation Center

Students entering grades K-2 can explore the universe with stories, participation activities, music, games, and crafts. 2:00-3:00pm.


Summer Movie at Largo Public Library

Get ready for the weekend by enjoying a movie and snack at the library. Today's movie is "Mars Needs Moms." 2:00-3:30pm.


Summer LEGO Robotics Club at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Students entering grades 3-12 can work together using LEGO® WeDo 2.0 kits to learn how to build and program a robot!  Make a sound machine, dancing robot, explore space, and much more!  Design robots using the same materials that are used in the World Robot Olympiad and First LEGO® League Jr. Registration required. 3:30pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Recreation Center

Children in grades 3-5 can explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math at the library's S.T.R.E.A.M. Club. Join in for hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! 4:00-5:00pm.


Crafty Kids at Seminole Community Library

Crafty kids is open to students in grades K-5. This week's theme is Flag Day! Join the library for dancing, snacks, stories, crafts, and free play. Registration required. 4:30-5:30pm.


Summer Reading Kick-Off Party at Gulfport Public Library

Join Gulfport Public Library at their Summer Reading Kick-Off event with special guest Jiggle Man! His zany comedy is fun for all ages and will be sure to have you laughing! Open to children and their caregivers. 7:00-8:00pm.


Flick & Float at Fossil Park Pool

Flick & Float Movie Night at the Pool is back with new movie nights, happening every Friday starting June 7th. The event is hosted by the City of St. Petersburg's Aquatics Division. "Trolls" is on the big screen this week. $2/ages 3-12, $3/ages 13 & up. 7:00-10:00pm.

Flick & Float Movie Night at the Pool is back with new movie nights, happening every Friday starting June 7th. The event is hosted by the City of St. Petersburg's Aquatics Division. "Moana" is on the big screen this week. $2/ages 3-12, $3/ages 13 & up. 7:00-10:00pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Saturday, June 8th


Battle friends and foes in St. Pete Beach Recreation's first ever Nerf Battle Tournament. Registration is required and teams are limited so register early. Game play will consist of team death-match or Capture the Flag. Teams are 4 vs 4. Each team must have two members under the age of 16 and the other two team members can be any age. More information and Tournament rules can be found at www.spbrec.com. 8:00am-12:00pm.


Member Mornings at Great Explorations Children's Museum

On Saturday mornings in June and July, Great Ex opens their doors an hour early for Members only! Enjoy this quiet time on the museum floor as their way of saying thank you for being members and supporting the museum all year long. 9:00-10:00am.


Saturday Morning Market at Williams Park

Join the Saturday Morning Market for the Williams Park Summer Market! There will be live music and vendors with fresh produce, read-to-eat foods, drinks, crafts, art, and more! This event will run every Saturday from June 1st until August 31st. 9:00am-1:00pm.


Join Sky Zone for a royal event! Come meet, gree, and jump with all of the princesses! Tickets are $14 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Kidz Korner at Vision Ace Hardware

Bring your kids to Ace Hardware on MLK St. N to paint a wooden plaque for Father's Day. Free and fun! 10:00am-2:00pm.


Proud Families at Great Explorations Children's Museum

Join Great Ex for an event that will incorporate activities focused on unity, inclusion, and self-esteem through story time, art, dance time and an experiment to prepare for the upcoming Pride celebration in St. Pete! Included with admission. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Family Garden Yoga at Gulfport Public Library

The whole family is welcome to refresh with Christa in this summer yoga series. Please meet in the Friends Room if weather doesn't permit outdoor session. 10:15-11:15am.


What is Wildlife Rehabilitation? at Weedon Island Preserve

Join Weedon Island Preserve for a special visit from Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife. Hear about what wildlife rehabilitators do and some of Owl's Nest Sanctuary's most memorable rescue and rehabilitation cases. Discover who the permitted rehabbers are in the local areas of Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties and learn the best practices for how you too can help your local wildlife. Recommended for adults and children 8+. Registration required. 10:30-11:30am.


Family Day: Capturing Color at The James Museum

Join The James Museum for a special Family Day which will start with the unveiling of a new mural in the Children’s Studio by SHINE St. Petersburg Mural Festival mural artist Cecilia Lueza! Meet the artist at 10:30am and hear a little about her work. Afterward, journey through the galleries to search for colors on the color wheel and visit the children’s studio to create your own suncatcher inspired by what you find. Best for ages 3-10; included with admission. 10:30am-12:30pm.


A Universe of Stories at St. Petersburg Main Library

Children entering grades K-2 can explore the universe with stories, participation activities, music, games, and crafts. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Moon's First Friends." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Donuts with Dad at Practically Pikasso

Join Practically Pikasso for a Donuts with Dad painting event! $35 per couple includes a coffee mug for Dad and a selection of pottery from the Kids Pick section for the kids. Enjoy donuts and juice while creating memories together! Additional children are $15 each. 11:00am-12:30pm.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


Creature Feature at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Live animal encounter! Learn interesting facts about a program animal featured at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve every Saturday and Sunday. 2:00pm.


Insectomania at St. Petersburg North Community Library

The insect experts at Boyd Hill will bring insect and arachnid friends and share a story or two! This free program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. 2:30-3:30pm.


June is a great month for ArtWalkin' in St. Pete! The Central Arts District, EDGE District, Grand Central District, Warehouse Arts District, and downtown Waterfront District unite for the St. Petersburg Second Saturday ArtWalk. Studios and galleries stay open late to welcome visitors from 5-9 pm. The Downtown Looper Trolley is now part of ArtWalk on Second Saturdays taking visitors to all of the galleries in the Waterfront District with stops every 15 minutes. The FREE ArtWalk Trolleys also run every 30 minutes in the other districts! 5:00-9:00pm.


Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium

See the Rowdies take on the North Carolina FC at home. 7:30pm.



Sunday, June 9th

Dads and Donuts at Romp N' Roll

Come Celebrate Father's Day with Romp N' Roll! There will be donuts, coffee, fun activities, a bounce house, and more! Call or sign up online to reserve your spot. 9:30-11:00am.


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Great Connections at Great Explorations Children's Museum

For this event, Great Explorations Children’s Museum will open early for children with special needs and their families to enjoy Great Connections, a sensory-friendly event. Great Explorations will close to the public, offer discounted admission and provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. $5/person or free for members. 10:00am-12:00pm.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Bird of Prey Talk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Boyd Hill for a 30 minute bird of prey show every Sunday! Get an up close look at a beautiful avian ambassador and learn how you can help birds of prey. Included with preserve admission. 10:00am.


Chess Club at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Does your child enjoy playing chess? Is he/she interested in learning the game?  If so, join the library for Chess Club run by the teen volunteers. Grades K to 12; registration required. 1:30pm.


Creature Feature at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Live animal encounter! Learn interesting facts about a program animal featured at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve every Saturday and Sunday. 2:00pm.


Amanda Singleton, Esq of Singleton Legal PLLC walks parents through the nitty gritty of preparing wills, trusts and guardianship for their children. Workshops are free to families enrolled in Music & Me's summer music classes and $10 to families not enrolled. 2:00-3:00pm.


SPARK Lab: It Came from Outer Space at St. Petersburg Main Library

Be ready for the alien invasion with galaxy slime, sparkly moon sand, and a special spaceship. For children in grades 3-5. 2:30-3:30pm.


2nd Sunday at Tampa Bay Turners

Join Tampa Bay Turners every second Sunday for open gym (ages 4 & under) and swim (all ages). Cost is $10/family. 3:00-5:00pm.


Sip N Sing at Cage Brewing

Led by Music & Me, Sip N Sing is a kid-friendly, old-style sing-a-long open to the community. Bring your family, friends and voices to connect musically and enjoy the fine craft selections at Cage Brewing. This is a FREE event, other than your beer, of course. 5:00-6:00pm.
