Start making plans for the weekend! There are LOTS of fun things to do around St. Petersburg!

Flamingo Festival at Sunken Gardens.

The first weekend of the month is always full, and March is no exception. The trees are blooming, the birds are chirping, the weather is perfect, and there are so many fun things happening this weekend for kids and families.

Friday, March 1st


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $6/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Terrific Tots at Great Explorations

This members-only program is offered when school is in session for children ages 1-3 and a caregiver. Join the museum for songs and movement, story time, an art or craft exploration and community time for tots and their adults! 9:30-10:00am.


Join Baby Boot Camp St Pete at the Sundial every First Friday for a FREE class open to all moms. Please register in advance and fill out the waiver at www.BabyBootCamp.com. 9:30-10:30am.

Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am and 11:00am.


The perfect way to start off spring is with this super sweet paper plate chick, decorated with feathers and all the features! Ages: 2+. This activity is included with the price of membership or a Playspace day pass. 10:30-11:30am.

Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Preschool-aged children can enjoy songs, stories and crafts with a "Letter A" theme! 10:30am.


Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Put your engineering skills to the test every Friday! Build with LEGO bricks, KEVA planks and other fun materials. No registration required; grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.

Reading Fun Storytime at Childs Park Community Library

Children in grades PreK-2 and their caregivers are invited for stories, music and fun! 4:15-5:00pm.

S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Community Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math with hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more! For children in grades 3-5. 4:15-5:00pm.

Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll

Looking for a reliable date night sitter? Join Romp n' Roll every Friday night for Kids Night Out. Each week will feature a different theme and children will get the chance to enjoy a pizza party, gym activities, bounce house and more! For children ages 2 to 5; $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.

St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


"Winter Skies" at SPC Planetarium & Observatory

Explore the stars without trekking far from home, for a price that's out of this world: Free. The planetarium offers two free public shows on Friday nights when the college is in session. Shows are hosted by resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph and feature live narration with images displayed by computer-controlled projectors. Ages 5+. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.

SPAS Navigating Nature Camp at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Navigating Nature, sponsored by the St. Petersburg Audubon Society, is a free camp for kids in grades 4 through 8. Campers are given the opportunity to experience nature up-close-and-personal through a variety of activities including nature walks, animal encounters, crafts, and hands-on science. 8:30-11:30am.


Saturday Morning Market at Williams Park

This lively and huge outdoor market moves to Williams Park this weekend due to the Grand Prix construction. Live music, a variety of vendors and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.

Kids Workshop at The Home Depot

Spark a conversation about one of the oldest inventions—hands down—in this free hands-on workshop. Together you and your timekeeper can build a freestanding clock with easy-to-read numbers, movable hands and a storage tray to house reminders or important trinkets. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. 9:00am-12:00pm.

Join Sky Zone To Infinity & Beyond with Buzz Lightyear and friends! This epic family event will have a character meet & greet, jump, light breakfast, and so much more. Tickets are$14 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.

Kidding Around Yoga at the Museum of Fine Arts

This class is specifically designed for kids – families welcome.  Practicing yoga with everyone in the family, and especially children, creates a special bond. Ages 3 & older. $5 per person, includes admission to the MFA Collection galleries only. 10:00-11:00am.

Open Tree Climb at Pathfinder Outdoor Education

Pathfinder's trained facilitators take you through a brief ground school and then you can climb at your own pace into the canopy of a gorgeous live oak. Anyone ages 6 and up can climb - it's not just for kids! And it's FREE for every climber. 10:00am-3:00pm.

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. 10:00am-3:30pm.

Largo Central Railroad at Largo Central Park

Join Largo Central Railroad for a ride around beautiful Largo Central Park on the miniature railroad.  The accurately modeled scale locomotives pull you and your family along a mile long loop through great scenery, the spooky tunnel and a waterfall pond.  Fun for all ages! 10:00am-4:00pm.

Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday. 11:00am.


Edible Wilds Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Explore what plants are edible and what to avoid on this popular guided hike. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 11:00am


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Make & Take at the Museum of Fine Arts

Create your own masterpiece inspired by works in the collection and special exhibitions. Supplies are included. Free with admission. 11:00am-2:00pm.


Open House at Pinellas Pioneer Settlement

Come visit a hidden gem of St Pete! Explore the Endicott House to see how settlers lived and the General Store in the Brantley Building, the oldest wooden building in St Petersburg. Enjoy a visit to the Blacksmith, Print Shop and Sawmill as well. Admission and parking are both free. 11:00am-2:00pm.


Shamrock Canvas at Growing Up

Make a keepsake canvas for St. Patrick's Day with a hand print four leaf clover! Ages: Newborn+. Cost is $3 for members and $9 for non-members (includes playspace day pass). 11:30am.

Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


St. Pete Indie Flea at Green Bench Brewing Co.

Grand Opening Celebration at Ninja Academy of Martial Arts

A Seussical Reading Hour at The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay

Oh, the places you’ll go! Join us The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay as Watermark celebrates Read Across America Day and the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The senior residents will be reading stories and kids are invited to read, too! All ages are welcome, please RSVP to the event invite. 2:00-3:00pm.

Sensory Sensitive Sunday at Chuck E. Cheese's

Chuck E. Cheese's offers a sensory-friendly experience on the first Sunday of every month, opening stores two hours before normal opening time. Sensory Sensory events include a trained and caring staff that work to ensure each guest has a fun-filled visit. 9:00-11:00am.

Toddlerdega at Pro Karting Experience

This event is for mini drivers ages 2-6 or Power Wheel size drivers. Pro Karting Experience supplies the race track, you supply the driver and the vehicle. $5 Pit Pass, Per Driver. $20 for Power Wheel Rental/Pit Pass, first come first serve basis. 9:00-11:00am.

Green Eggs & Ham Clay Date at Practically Pikasso

Have a clay date with your little Seuss fan where you'll read the classic book Green Eggs and Ham and then create your own Green Eggs and Ham plate out of clay. Cost is $16. 11:30am-12:30pm.


Flamingo Festival at Sunken Gardens

Show your love of flamingos and celebrate Sunken Gardens' young flock’s birthday! Wear pink for $1 off admission! Kids’ activities in collaboration with Great Explorations Children's Museum and live steel drum music free with garden admission or membership. Beer, wine, & food from Carrabba's Italian Grill- St. Petersburg/4th Street available for purchase. 12:00-4:00pm.


Join Music and Me, LLC at Flamingo Festival! Miss Jen and Mr. Alex will be in the Amphitheater at 1 and again at 2:30 leading a fun family sing-a-long. 1:00pm & 2:30pm.

Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.

SPARK Lab at St. Petersburg Main Library

Create & learn with activities for children in 3rd - 5th grade that focus on S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math). 2:30-3:30pm.
