Happy weekend, Sunshine City parents! We know there is never a shortage of fun things to do with your families in St. Pete, but this St. Patrick's Day weekend is looking especially fun with lots of events for all ages as spring break comes to an end. Read on for our top picks for March 15 -17.

Friday, March 15th

Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories and crafts with a St. Patrick's Day theme. 10:30am.


Spring Break Festival & Carnival at Madeira Beach Recreation

The Gulf Beaches Rotary Club in partnership with City of Madeira Beach will host the Annual Spring Break Waterfront Festival, which will take place from Thursday, March 14 through Sunday, March 17, 2019. This 4-day, fun-filled event will offer a collection of carnival rides provided by Arnold Amusements, live entertainment as well as awesome food and craft vendors. Admission is free; ride wristbands available for purchase. 12:00-10:00pm.


When school is out, fun is in at The James! Get messy in the children’s studio Monday through Friday this week with artmaking inspired by the museum’s collection. Explore the art of watercolor painting and try different techniques such as watercolor resist and salt texture. Drop in at your convenience and join the fun; included with admission. 1:00-4:00pm.


Crafty Kids at Seminole Community Library

There is always something new going on at Crafty Kids. Whether it's crafts, science experiments, cooking, games, or stories, Crafty Kids always have fun and make new friends. Minimum of 6 kids required for program to take place; open to students in Grades K-5. This week's theme is Christopher Robin! Join the library for stories, coloring, free play, activities, and garden chess. 4:30-5:30pm.

Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll

Looking for a reliable date night sitter? Join Romp n' Roll every Friday night for Kids Night Out. Each week will feature a different theme and children will get the chance to enjoy a pizza party, gym activities, bounce house and more! For children ages 2 to 5; $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.


Movies in the Park at Largo Central Park

Gather up the family, grab your blankets and join Largo Recreation for a movie on the big screen. Small Foot starts at dark. On-site parking and concessions are available. 6:30-9:00pm.


Shamrock N' Run at Ulmer Park

Live music, food, and drinks are all included in this St. Patty's themed event. Events include a 5k, a 1.5-mile walk, and a Clover Kids Dash. All Clover Kids will receive a t-shirt, Shamrock N'Ribbon, and kid's meal. Cost is $10 for the kids dash (ages 7 & under). 7:00-9:00pm.

St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.

Saturday, March 16th


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

This lively and huge outdoor market is open from October to May in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium. Live music, a variety of vendors and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.

Let the experts at St. Pete Running Company help get your kids' running stride dialed in. This will be a fun, action packed class that will teach your little ones an appreciation and life-long love of running. Good for ages 3-10, the fun course will teach your little stompers necessary skills for running. Parents are invited to join in at no charge. Free! 9:00-10:00am.


Nature's Elements at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Ages 3-6 will enjoy nature walks, tram rides, program animals, art, games, songs, and stories with environmental educator Amalia Fernand from Nature Explorers International. Amalia has taught programs at Boyd Hill since 2001, and is offering four weeks of classes focusing on: amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, that are designed specifically for a younger age. Nature Explorers from 1-4pm, will have similar activities that are tailored for ages 7-12. $15/child. 9:30am-12:30pm.


PJ Masks Jump Time at Sky Zone

Come meet, greet and jump with Catboy, Owlette, & Gecko! As always, there will be a surprise character guest as well. Doors will open at 9am. Cost is $14 per child and parents are free. 9:30-11:00am.

Aviary Tour: Great Horned Owls at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Get a behind the scenes look! See how staff and volunteers run the Birds of Prey program and have an up close encounter with the bird of the month: the Great Horned Owl. $3/adult, $1.50/child. 10:00am.


Kidding Around Yoga at Museum of Fine Arts

The Kidding Around Yoga system utilizes the yoga poses or asanas creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more.  The class is specifically designed for kids ages 3 & up – families welcome. Cost is $5 per person and includes admission to the MFA Collection galleries. 10:00-11:00am.


Kidz Korner at Vision Ace Hardware

Bring your child to Vision Ace Hardware on MLK St. N to paint a St. Patrick's Day suncatcher. Free and fun! 10:00am-2:00pm.


Literacy Festival at James Weldon Johnson Community Library

Join the Friends of James Weldon Johnson Community Library for this family-friendly event promoting the importance of literacy and celebrating the life of the revered educator, poet and civil rights activist for whom the library is named.  The Festival features entertainment, a puppet show, free books for children, a Walk for Reading and more. 10:00am-4:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.

Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "How to Catch a Leprechaun." 11:00am-12:00pm.

Make & Take at Museum of Fine Arts

Create your own masterpiece inspired by works in the collection and special exhibitions. This month, use the supplies provided to design and create your own Jean Schlumberger-inspired box to hold something special. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-2:00pm.


How to Catch a Leprechaun at Practically Pikasso

Practically Pikasso's monthly story time is perfect for pint size painters and their parents. Join in for a reading of ""How To Catch A Leprechaun"" followed by pottery painting. Choose from a story themed pottery piece, a traditional mug or salad plate. $16/painter in advance, $18/walk-ins. 11:30am-12:30pm.


Country in the Park at England Brothers Park

This FREE event features live entertainment (including the country band Lonestar), a K9 demo, vendors/crafters, car show, tree and plant sale, children's activities ($20 armband for unlimited rides), food and beverages available for purchase, and more! 12:00-10:00pm.

Leprechauns and Limericks at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble to get your official leprechaun name, become a master limerick writer, learn how to leprechaun-proof your home, and take home fun giveaways to celebrate the release of Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles. 2:00pm.


See the Tampa Bay Rowdies take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds FC in the 2019 season home opener. 7:30pm.

Sunday, March 17th


St. Patrick's Day at Three Birds Tavern

Join Three Birds Tavern to celebrate their 10th St. Patrick's Day! Dancers, pipers, live music, Irish fare, and plenty of craic. Open at 10am with a fun-filled day for all. 10:00am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.

Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.

Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.
