Friday, March 8th


The 15th Annual Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg kicks off this Friday in downtown St. Petersburg with practice races, autograph sessions, a kids' Q&A, and more! 8:00am-5:00pm.


Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $6/child. 9:00-11:00am.

Spring into Safety at Campbell Park Recreation Center

Learn about skatepark safety at this fun, interactive safety event for children in grades K-5! Activities include helmet fitting and sticker station, skatepark tour, skate clinic, and science behind the brain injury activities. Registration required; free admission and lunch. 10:00am-3:00pm.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Join the library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am and 11:00am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories and crafts with a "Pillows and Blankets" theme. 10:30am.


Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Put your engineering skills to the test every Friday! Build with LEGO bricks, KEVA planks and other fun materials. No registration required; grades K & up. 3:30-4:30pm.


Pow Wow Festival at City of Seminole Recreation Department

Founded in 1968, the Pow Wow Festival is the City of Seminole's largest annual event and brings the community together with food, entertainment, midway rides, a parade and fun! 5:00pm-11:00pm.


Grand Prix Movie in the Park at North Straub Park

'Embrace the Race' and celebrate Grand Prix weekend with the City of St. Petersburg! Gather at North Straub Park for "Herbie Fully Loaded" to kick off race weekend. Kids crafts start at 5:30pm, and the movie begins at dark. 5:30pm.


The 3rd annual St. Pete Seafood & Sweets Festival will feature gourmet food trucks serving up Special Seafood Inspired dishes as well as offering their normal cuisine with beautiful waterfront seating. Free admission and family-friendly! 6:00-11:00pm.


Kids Night Out at Romp n' Roll

Looking for a reliable date night sitter? Join Romp n' Roll every Friday night for Kids Night Out. Each week will feature a different theme and children will get the chance to enjoy a pizza party, gym activities, bounce house and more! For children ages 2 to 5; $25 for members and $30 for non-members. 6:00-9:00pm.

Parents' Night Out at Great Explorations

Drop off your children for a night of fun at the museum, while you take some time for yourself! Cost is $25 per member child ; $35 non-member child. Each additional sibling receives a $5 discount. Includes pizza, snacks, juice, museum play, Touch Tunnel, science demonstration, and G-rated movie. Ages 4 to 10. 6:00-10:00pm.

Movies in the Park at Largo Central Park

Gather up the family, grab your blankets and join Largo Recreation for a movie on the big screen! Incredibles 2 starts at 6:30pm. On-site parking and concessions are available. 6:30-9:00pm.


St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


"Winter Skies" at SPC Planetarium & Observatory

Explore the stars without trekking far from home, for a price that's out of this world: Free. The planetarium offers two free public shows on Friday nights at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Shows are hosted by resident astronomer Dr. Craig Joseph and feature live narration with images displayed by computer-controlled projectors. Ages 5+. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.


Saturday, March 9th

5K Fun Run with Healthy St. Pete at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Start the new year off on a good foot! Practice healthy habits while making new friends! All levels welcome. Meet at the flag pole in front of the nature center. Cost is FREE, all ages. 9:00-11:30am.


You are invited to a royal affair! Dress in your best princess attire and join Sky Zone for an elegant tea party with a princess guest list! Just $14 per child and free accompanying adult. Character Meet, Greet, & Play, Awesome Photo Ops, Fun Princess Jewelry Dress Up, And All Things Sky Zone! 9:30-11:00am.


Nature's Elements at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Ages 3-6 will enjoy nature walks, tram rides, program animals, art, games, songs, and stories with environmental educator Amalia Fernand from Nature Explorers International. Amalia has taught programs at Boyd Hill since 2001, and is offering four weeks of classes focusing on: amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, that are designed specifically for a younger age. Nature Explorers from 1-4pm, will have similar activities that are tailored for ages 7-12. Cost is $15. 9:30am-12:30pm.


Insect Trek at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Butterflies, bugs, and beetles oh my! Join Boyd Hill for a guided hike exploring the secret lives of insects! Fun and informative for all ages. 10:00am.


Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. 10:00am-3:30pm.


Saturday Stories at St. Petersburg Main Library

Stories, music, and a cool craft for kids in grades PreK-2. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "You Are My Happy." 11:00am-12:00pm.


Pow Wow Festival at City of Seminole Recreation Department

Founded in 1968, the Pow Wow Festival is the City of Seminole's largest annual event and brings the community together with food, entertainment, midway rides, a parade and fun! The Festival Parade starts at 10am. 11:00am-11:00pm.


Food Truck Fest at 3 Daughters Brewing

Make sure to come hungry! 5 trucks will be on-site at 3 Daughters Brewing offering a variety of food for everyone! Bring your family and friends out to enjoy some of their signature dishes! 3:00-10:00pm.

Sunday, March 10th


The 15th Annual Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg continues on Sunday in downtown St. Petersburg with a warm up, races, and more! 9:00am-6:00pm.


Gator Day! at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Tombolo Books for the book launch of "There Was an Old Gator Who Swallowed a Moth." At this event for kids of all ages, there will be a book signing, reading, sing-along, gator crafts, coloring, and an alligator walk with a ranger. $3.50/adult and $1.50/child. 10:00am-1:00pm.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, hand crafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Great Connections at Great Explorations

For this event, Great Explorations Children’s Museum will open early for children with special needs and their families to enjoy Great Connections, a sensory-friendly event. Great Explorations will close to the public, offer discounted admission and provide a “cool down” room for families who need to take a break. $5/person or free for members. 10:00am-12:00pm.

Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.
