Weekend Guide: Nov. 29 - Dec. 1

Resist the urge to lounge at home in those turkey pants and close out November with a flurry of activity. This weekend brings you Small Business Saturday shopping, a holiday parade, lots of lights, camping, and more! Click the links below for more info.

Friday, November 29th


Black Friday Drop & Shop at Romp n' Roll

Drop your kids off for a fun morning with Romp n' Roll while you get some holiday shopping done! Specially designed for kids between the ages of 2 through 5, this event will have your child singing songs, playing games, creating artwork, and being active in the bright and colorful kids gym. $25/member and $30/non-member includes a healthy, nut-free snack and drink. 9:00am-12:00pm.


Camp Out for Scholarships at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join the Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve to #OptOutside Nov. 29 - Dec. 1 to enjoy the beauty of the preserve! All proceeds go to support the summer camp scholarship program. Registration is required; $40 for FOBH members, $50 for non-members. Includes camp site, s'mores both nights, and coffee and donuts both mornings. 12:00pm, Nov. 29 - 12:00pm, Dec. 1.


Enchant Christmas at Tropicana Field

Enchant is the creator of the World's Largest Christmas Light Maze and Market coming to Tropicana Field November 22 - December 29. The event is also host to a bustling artisan Christmas Market, an Ice Skating Trail, seasonal food and beverage, visits with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, as well as exciting VIP and group experiences. It’s true - a world of Christmas wonder awaits! Tickets are on sale now. 4:00-11:00pm.


Holiday Lights in the Gardens

Join the Florida Botanical Gardens for a Pinellas County holiday tradition Nov. 29 - Jan. 4! The Gardens will sparkle with more than 1 million, twinkling, colorful LED lights of all shapes and sizes. Brand new this year will be expanded pathways and displays following the recently created Wetlands Walkway. Admission is a suggested donation of $5/person over the age of 13. 5:30-9:30pm.


Join makeme for a family art night! Choose a pre-sketched design to paint alongside your loved ones - or paint your own thing!  Admission price of $25 reflects two participants (both parent and child ages 4 & up create their OWN artwork). 6:00pm.


Creepy Christmas: The ART Ride at Pinellas Arts Village

Take a trip on this fun, immersive ride for the whole family! Roll through Santa's workshop during a battle between good and evil elves. From the folks who brought you the Terror Tent ART Ride. 6:00-9:00pm.


Kid's Night Out at Romp N Roll

Treat your kids ages 2 to 5 and yourself to a fun night out! Parents get an evening to themselves while the children get to run, play, dance, and have fun with energetic instructors. A pizza party dinner and bubble dance party are included. Children do not need to be potty-trained. $25/member, $30/non-member (sibling discount available). 6:00-9:00pm.


Holiday Lights in Central Park

One of the most spectacular displays of holiday lights in Pinellas County is back for another year. Come and take a stroll through over two million LED lights throughout Largo Central Park, for free! The Ferris Wheel and Carousel are available for just $5 per ride along with a campfire and food for sale each night, Nov. 28 - Jan. 1. 6:00-11:00pm.


Parents Night Out/Friday Night Fun at Highland Recreation Complex

Kids will have a blast playing fun games throughout the facility including the gym, PlayWorld, and the game room. The snack shop will be open for purchases. Younger children are offered separate activities in the preschool room and must be potty trained. Cost: HC $70/$140 per season, Drop-in fee: $7/$14. 6:30-9:30pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


Saturday, November 30th


Weedon Walkabout at Weedon Island Preserve

Join in for a guided hike through the mangrove and upland ecosystems of Weedon Island Preserve. Learn about the coastal environment, native wildlife, and early history of the Preserve. This hike may be up to 2 miles (round trip). All ages are welcome but children younger than 6 years old may find this hike challenging. 9:00-11:00am.


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

St. Petersburg's Saturday Morning Market is back for fall! This market is an extraordinary ode to great food, creative expression, and our wonderfully vibrant community. Come see what happens when you combine a Farmers Market, a Craft Fair, and a Festival into an amazing weekly gathering. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Join Sky Zone for some breakfast goodies and jumping with some favorite characters! 9:30-11:00am.


Kids Yoga at The Littlest Trunk

Join The Littlest Trunk for a joyful children’s yoga class featuring high energy songs, playful poses, mindful breathing, and even a little meditation. The class is targeted to children ages 2-5, but all ages are welcome. Caregivers are encouraged to join in the fun. Cost is $10. 10:00am.


Saturdays at the Morean Arts Center

Saturdays @ the Morean is a free family drop-in art studio hosted by the Morean Arts Center. Art activities are geared toward children ages 5 to 10. 10:00am-12:30pm & 1:00-3:30pm.


Shopapalooza Festival at Vinoy Park

LocalShops1.com is excited to bring the 10th annual Shopapalooza Festival to Vinoy Park! The event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1 and features over 225 local businesses and organizations, live entertainment, Kids Zone, activity zone, and more. Admission is free! 10:00am-5:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Dear Santa" and "Cookies for Santa." 11:00am-12:00pm.


The Indie Flea will be hosting a Small Business Saturday Pop Up Market + event at Black Crow Coffee in Old Northeast. To encourage patrons to ride their bikes instead of cars, Black Crow Coffee has pledged to give patrons free coffee if they show up on bicycles and have several other giveaways for patrons. 12:00-4:00pm.


Classic Holiday Movie Series at Regal Park Place

Between November 30 - December 21, enjoy a Classic Holiday Movie each Saturday for just $5 per ticket! "Elf" is on the big screen this week. 1:00pm.


Creature Feature at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Live animal encounter! Learn interesting facts about a program animal featured at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve every Saturday and Sunday. 2:30pm.


Santa Parade + Tree Lighting in Downtown St. Petersburg

Join the City of St. Petersburg and St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation for the illuminated Santa Parade & Tree Lighting! The parade begins at Albert Whitted Park and runs along Bayshore Dr. to Fifth Ave. NE. Following the Santa Parade, Mayor Rick Kriseman lights up the downtown waterfront in North Straub Park for St. Petersburg's annual Tree Lighting. Stay after the Santa Parade & Tree Lighting to enjoy a night in the park with activities, concessions and more! 6:00-10:00pm.

Sensory Sensitive Sunday at Chuck E. Cheese's

Chuck E. Cheese's offers a sensory-friendly experience on the first Sunday of every month, opening stores two hours before normal opening time. Sensory events include a trained and caring staff that works to ensure each guest has a fun-filled visit. 9:00-11:00am.

Toddlerdega at Pro Karting Experience

This event is for mini drivers ages 2 to 6 or Power Wheel size drivers. Pro Karting Experience supplies the race track, you supply the driver and the vehicle. $5 pit pass per driver or $20 for Power Wheel rental/pit pass. 9:00-11:00am.


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take-home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, handcrafts, and more! Lights of Lake Park

Come enjoy one of the best holiday light displays in Pinellas County for free (donations appreciated) Dec. 1 - 31. You can walk or drive through but please be aware a limited number of parking spaces are available. To avoid longer wait times to enter the community, organizers recommend coming earlier in the evening. There will be candy canes for the kids and special dog treats for the furry friends as well. 6:00-10:00pm.
