St. Petersburg Kids Weekend Guide

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! After stuffing yourself with turkey (or tofurkey), it’s probably time to get out of the house and do something fun. Here are some great kid-friendly events happening around St. Pete from November 23rd to 25th.


Friday, November 23rd


Ditch the Black Friday shopping this year and #OptOutside with the Friends of Boyd Hill Nature Preserve! Spend Friday & Saturday nights camping within Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Environmental Studies Area enjoying campfires, s'mores, night hikes, coffee, and donuts. Cost is $40 per tent or camping trailer for members; $50 per tent or camping trailer for non-members. Prices include two nights of camping. You are welcome to camp one night, but discounted rates are not available. All proceeds support our summer camp scholarship program for school-aged children. November 23-25.

Royal Palm Market at Intermezzo

Located in the lot next to Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails, The Royal Palm Market offers delicious foods, handcrafted wares from local artists, goods from local boutiques and much more. Enjoy it all with your family and pets while listening to a DJ spinning some tunes in the hip Edge District. 6:00-10:00pm.


St. Pete Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.

Saturday, November 24th


Toddlerdega at Pro Karting Experience

This event is for mini drivers ages 2 to 6 or Power Wheel size drivers. Pro Karting Experience supplies the race track, you supply the driver and the vehicle. $5 Pit Pass per driver. $20 for Power Wheel Rental/Pit Pass, first come first serve basis. 9:00-11:00am.


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

This lively and huge outdoor market is open from October to May in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium. Live music, a variety of vendors and a strong sense of community make this market the heart of St. Pete. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Join makeme to paint and decorate your own wood doll bed – perfect for any 18” doll! We'll also be adding a fleece blanket and pillow to match. Childen 6 & over may be dropped off. 10:00am & 12:00pm.

Shopapalooza Festival, Part 2 at South Straub Park

Shopapalooza is Tampa Bay's biggest shopping event of the year, packed with free entertainment, free giveaways and plenty of surprises! The event also features free entertainment, free giveaways, free activities for children and plenty of surprises. 10:00am-5:00pm.


Sensory Friendly Film at Cobb Tyrone Luxury 10

Sensory friendly showings provide families with varying abilities the opportunity to enjoy a family friendly film where kids can be in a safe and accepting environment. The auditoriums are made more comfortable by brighter lights and the sound level is turned down. The audience is encouraged to be themselves and interact with the movie, while having fun without the worry of disturbing others. "Ralph Breaks the Internet" starts at 10:00am.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "Mickey Mouse Goes Christmas Shopping." 11:00am.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities which educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


Santa Parade & Tree Lighting in Downtown St. Petersburg

Join the City of St. Petersburg for the NEW Santa Parade & Tree Lighting! The parade begins at Albert Whitted Park and runs along Bayshore Dr. to Fifth Ave. N. Following the Santa Parade, Mayor Rick Kriseman lights up the downtown waterfront around 8pm in North Straub Park for St. Petersburg's annual Tree Lighting. Stay after the Santa Parade & Tree Lighting to enjoy a night in the park with games, a marching band performance, concessions and more! 5:30-10:00pm.


Family Night Hike at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Join Rangers for the most popular guided hike at Boyd Hill. Explore the preserve after hours in a small group setting. Look for alligators, listen for bats, and search for scorpions! Limited space. Cost: $5/$3. 6:00pm.


PPFD Movies in the Park at McDevitt Park

The Pinellas Park Fire Fighters would like to invite you and your friends to McDevitt Park (7601 60th St N.) for a free outdoor movie on Saturday, November 24th. Movies in the Park will start at 7pm, the movie begins around 7:30. This event is outdoors so bring a chair or blanket for seating. Event is weather permitting. This month's movie will be ELF! 7:00pm.


Sunday, November 25th


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids ages 2 & up. Donations accepted. 11:30am-12:30pm.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in clay play session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children ages 3 & up. 1:00-3:00pm.


Christmas Tree Clay Date at Practically Pikasso

Learn how to create your own ceramic Christmas trees using clay! Make your trees as big or small as you'd like and as many as you can for your clay block. $15 per artist. Great for kids and adults! 4:30-6:00pm.
