A list of kid-friendly events in St. Petersburg, Florida.

It's the weekend before Halloween and there are lots of great events to get you and your kids out and about in St. Pete! Scroll our list below for all of the best family-friendly (and lots of free!) events happening around the Sunshine City. Click the links for more information.

Friday, October 25th


Join the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance for the 5th year celebrating vibrant mural art throughout St. Petersburg beginning Friday, Oct. 18 and ending Saturday, Oct. 26. Local, national, and international artists will be painting new walls for the outdoor gallery that is St. Pete. Come out and watch the artists work, each with their own unique style and process. Open Gym at Bayside Sports Academy

Open Gym is open to children ages 6 & under every Friday. $8/child. 9:00-11:00am.


Terrific Tots at Great Explorations Children's Museum

On Wednesday and Friday mornings while Pinellas County Schools are in, before the museum opens to the public, members are invited to join Great Ex for songs, movement, art and story time in Great Beginnings at the museum! Terrific Tots is a unique bonding experience for children ages 1-3 and their caregivers. 9:30-10:00am.


Babytime Boofest at Gulfport Public Library

This Babytime will have you saying BOO! We will make adorable footprint ghosts for your little ones using washable tempura paint. Costumes are encouraged at this adorable October-themed program for little ones under 2 years old. There will also be songs, books, lap bounce rhymes, and the opportunity to meet other caregivers with infants and young toddlers. Older siblings are also welcome. 10:00-10:30am.


Toddler Early Literacy Program at St. Petersburg Main Library

Come join the main library for story time featuring movement, music and fun with rhymes, stories, and puppets! For children ages 1 - 3 with a caregiver. 10:15am & 11:00am.


Preschool Story Time at Gulf Beaches Public Library

Join Gulf Beaches Public Library for songs, stories, and crafts with a "Halloween" theme. 10:30am.


Master Builders at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Kids in grades K and up are invited to put their engineering skills to the test! Build with LEGO® bricks, KEVA® planks, and other fun materials. 3:30-4:30pm.


S.T.R.E.A.M. Club at Childs Park Library

Explore Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math at Childs Park Library's S.T.R.E.A.M. Club. Join in for hands-on science experiments, coding, stories, and more!

For children grades 3 - 5. 4:15-5:00pm.


Parents Night Out/Friday Night Fun at Highland Recreation Complex

Kids will have a blast playing fun games throughout the facility including the gym, PlayWorld, and the game room. The snack shop will be open for purchases. Younger children are offered separate activities in the preschool room and must be potty trained. Cost: HC $70/$140 per season, Drop-in fee: $7/$14. 6:30-9:30pm.


Join St. Pete Beach Community Center each Friday in October for a night full of fun, food, and free live music! Dance the night away to some of your favorite local bands. 7:00-9:00pm.


Friday Night Shuffle at St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club

Friday nights are free and open to the public at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! Bring your own food and beverages and enjoy the courts. 7:00-10:00pm.


"Legends of the Fall" at SPC Planetarium and Observatory

Each Friday in October, St. Petersburg College’s Planetarium and Observatory disguises itself as the “Haunted Planetarium.” Here, learn all about the Greek myth and lore playing out in the autumn skies, but watch out for ghosts, ghouls, zombies, and other creatures of the night. Parents, this one can get a little scary. The suggested minimum age is 7. 7:00pm & 8:15pm.


Saturday, October 26th


Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

St. Petersburg's Saturday Morning Market is back for fall! This market is an extraordinary ode to great food, creative expression, and our wonderfully vibrant community. Come see what happens when you combine a Farmers Market, a Craft Fair, and a Festival into an amazing weekly gathering. 9:00am-2:00pm.


Mini & Me Yoga at The Studieaux

In conjunction with Clatsch.com & Sunshine City Kids, The Studieaux is pleased to offer monthly Mini & Me Yoga -- all mothers, fathers, guardians, and friends are welcomed and encouraged. Join in for a fun and spirited Merge AM Routine, intended to engage the babes and encourage a more balanced body for all! All ages. 9:30-10:30am.


Jump with the Pups at Sky Zone

Jump with the PAW Patrol pups at Sky Zone Clearwater! Cost is $16 per child with free accompanying adults. 9:30-11:00am.


Kids Yoga at The Littlest Trunk

Join The Littlest Trunk for a joyful children’s yoga class featuring high energy songs, playful poses, mindful breathing, and even a little meditation. The class is targeted to children ages 2-5, but all ages are welcome. Caregivers are encouraged to join in the fun! Cost is $10 for both mom and child. 10:00am.


Shellebration 2019 at St. Pete Beach's Corey Avenue

Hosted by Sea Turtle Trackers, this free event with will include children's activities, music, education, raffle prizes, and shopping with the Corey Avenue Business Association (CABA) to benefit Sea Turtle Trackers, a non-profit based in St. Pete Beach. 10:00am-3:00pm.


Fall Art Frenzy at the Morean Arts Center

Join the Morean Arts Center for family-friendly fun with hands-on activities ranging from face painting to mask making. Also see pumpkins made on a potters wheel and visit the galleries to view art created by school children and professional mural and street artists. Free for members; $2/adult or $1/child for non-members. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Little Surrealists Tour at The Dali Museum

Kids ages 4-11 are invited to bring their families on a special 1-hour Museum tour. Free with museum admission. 11:00am-12:00pm.


Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Join Barnes & Noble for a storytime and activities featuring "No More Monsters Under Your Bed!" 11:00am-12:00pm.


Imagine That! at Imagine Museum

RSVP to this event where you and your family can make duct tape armbands that "reflect" your personalities and help keep you safe this Halloween. Activities are included with admission; kids ages 10 & under are free. 11:00am-2:00pm.


Pumpkin Everything Fest at Pete's General

Pete's General is partnering with The Urban Canning Co. to launch their new Pumpkin Spice Jam with a day full of pumpkin everything. There will be freshly made pumpkin bagels, pumpkin treats, pumpkin beer specials, and pumpkin decorating ($12 for a pumpkin + decorating kit). 11:30am-3:00pm.


Children ages 4-11 can discover the creative world of Dali through games, puzzles and arts + crafts activities that educate and encourage family interaction. Cost is free. 12:00-2:30pm.


Public Works BBQ Cook-Off & Rodeo at England Brothers Park

Come and enjoy the City of Pinellas Park Public Works' BBQ Cook-Off and Rodeo! The day's events include a BBQ Cook-Off with local amateur competitors and full rodeo with bull riding, live entertainment, beer, children's activities, and more. 12:00-10:00pm.


SHINE Grand Finale at The Factory St. Pete

SHINE takes over The Factory St. Pete to bring you a fun-filled day party with art installations, mural reveals, live painting, live music, panel discussions, food, drink, local markets and more! This is your only chance to see the Inside Out Project -- 300 poster-sized photos of St. Petersburg residents. Finale is FREE to the public. All ages welcome. 2:00-7:00pm.


Creature Feature at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Live animal encounter! Learn interesting facts about a program animal featured at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve every Saturday and Sunday. 2:30pm.


Tinkergarten at Crescent Lake Park

In each session of this fall series, Tinkergarten Leader, Elise Pickett, will facilitate a different expert-designed play lesson, welcoming children of various ages and needs to explore, problem-solve, communicate, collaborate, and create together. Registration required. 5:00-6:15pm.


Official Watch Party at Al Lang Stadium

The Rowdies may be on the road, but you can still spend your Saturday night at Al Lang Stadium! Join in for the official watch party to cheer on the Rowdies as they take on Louisville City FC in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the USL Championship Playoffs. Admission is free, and guests may bring in food and blankets to enjoy the match from the pitch. The stadium will be serving non-alcoholic beverages for $3 and beer for $5. 6:30-9:00pm.


Sunday, October 27th


Family Yoga Class at Peace of Yoga

Kidding Around Yoga Classes with Desiree utilize yoga poses creatively tucked into partner yoga, games and activities, original music, stories and more. This yoga class is specifically designed for kids (2 and older), but moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome! Donations accepted. 10:00-11:00am.


Corey Avenue Sunday Market at St. Pete Beach

Find this market located on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. This market hosts 70+ local vendors selling local and conventional produce, plants, herbs, raw honey, take home foods, artisan products, fresh baked goods, lunch bites, local art, handcrafts and more! Fun for all ages and dog-friendly. 10:00am-2:00pm.


Alligator Walk at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Learn about the American alligator, Florida’s state reptile, which calls our wetlands home on this all-ages guided walk. 11:30am.


Sundays at the Morean Center for Clay

Sundays @ The Morean is a free family drop-in Clay Play Session hosted by the Morean Center for Clay. Clay, tools and working tables provided, please bring your imagination. This session is open to all families with children (not recommended for children under 3 years old). 1:00-3:00pm.


Chess Club at Barbara S. Ponce Public Library

Does your K-12 grader enjoy playing chess? Are they interested in learning the game? If so, join the library for Chess Club to learn the game or put their skills to the test! This program is run by teen volunteers. Registration required. Stop by or call Youth Services at 727-369-0664 to register. 1:30-2:30pm.
