Winter Break Camps in St. Petersburg


Whether you're a working parent or a busy stay-at-home mom or dad and are looking for activities for the kids during winter break, there are tons of options around St. Petersburg. We've rounded up some fun enrichment camps for kids of all ages with focuses ranging from arts and science to sports.

 

Bayside Winter Break Camp

By choosing Bayside for your child's camp you are giving them a time of fun-filled activities. The children will stay busy learning gymnastics skills while improving their physical well-being and self-esteem through gymnastics instruction, games, and relay races. Full- and Half-Day Camps are available! Bayside Sports Academy, December 26-28 & January 2-4, 9:00am-4:00pm, ages 5 to 13, $50/day or $40/half-day. Register.


Holiday Break Art Camp

Children will explore a variety of mediums in both guided and self-guided experiences. Morean Arts Center, January 2-4, 9:00am-3:00pm, ages 5 to 10, $95/members, $115/non-members. Register.


Holiday Break Glass Camp

Explore glassblowing and fused glass through concentrated instruction from the visual arts faculty. Visit the Chihuly Collection. Watch a glassblowing demonstration in the Hot Shop. Try out new ideas, learn the language of glass and explore various processes. Morean Arts Center, January 2-4, 9:00am-3:00pm, ages 11 to 16, $180/members, $200/non-members. Register.


makeme Winter Break Camps

makeme's mixed-media camps are the perfect way to enrich and entertain your little ones during school breaks!  Camps include awesome themes that incorporate many opportunities for making (including painting, drawing, collage, sewing, building and much more!) Experienced instructors and small classes keep camps both attentive and engaging.  makeme, December 26-January 4, 9:00am-12:00pm, ages 5 to 10, $40/day. Register.


School of Skatin Winter Skateboarding Camp

The holidays are just around the corner  and what better way to celebrate than giving the gift of skateboarding to your child. The School of Skatin has a fun-filled Winter Camp planned this year with daily field trips to skate parks, lessons, clinics and fun interactive activities. All skill levels welcome. School of Skating, December 26-28 & December 31-January 4, 8:00am-5:30pm, ages 5 to 15, $100/week 1, $160/week 2, or $50/day. Register.


The Science Center Winter Camp

Snowflakes, blizzards, dropping temperatures - winter can be a magical (and very scientific!) time of the year, even for Floridians.  Join The Science Center as they transform the building into a winter wonderland with all sorts of seasonal STEM activities all day long. The Science Center of Pinellas, December 26-28 & January 2, 3, 4, 7, 9:00am-4:00pm, grades K-6, $65/single day or $125/December camp, $150/January camp. Register.


Sprouts Camp

Kids grow better outside! Join Boyd Hill for Sprouts Camp, a week filled with songs, stories games, and nature walks! Each week is a different theme with habitat investigations and activities that will demonstrate environmental concepts. Children must be potty trained. Limit of 15 campers. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, December 26-28 & December 31-January 4, 9:00am-12:00pm, ages 3 to 4, $40/3-day camp, $50/4-day camp. Register.


St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Playcamps

These very popular elementary school camps are designed to give youth fun, engaging, and memorable times through creatively planned indoor and outdoor activities supervised by well trained staff. Extended care is available at most sites for an additional fee. Fee assistance is available to those who qualify. St. Petersburg Recreation Centers, December 24-28 & December 31 to January 4, 7:30am-5:30pm, grades K-5, $72/camp. Register.


Wild Explorers Camp

Explore the natural wonder of Florida with hands-on exploration, interactive games, field excursions, hikes, crafts, and songs designed to nurture the love of the great outdoors. Students will learn about our incredible Florida wildlife, the interdependence of all living things and concepts of conservation crafted especially for the young mind. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, December 26-28 (ages 5 to 7) & December 31-January 4 (ages 7 to 11), 9:00am-4:00pm, $80/3-day camp, $100/4-day camp. Register.


Winter Break Creative Camp

Campers will experience a variety of different art mediums including but not limited to: clay, ceramics, water color, tye-dye, bubble painting, glass painting, etc. Camp will include educational components during project instruction. A kid friendly film will be shown during lunch break. Practically Pikasso, December 26-January 7, 9:30am-4:00pm (half days only on 12/23 & 12/31), ages 5 to 12, $165/3 days or $65/full day, $105/3 days or $45/half day. Register.


YMCA Christmas Camp

Activities at this camp open to everyone include rock climbing, swimming, arts and crafts, and gym games. Please pack a swim suit and towel, lunch, and closed toed shoes daily. Jim & Heather Gills YMCA, December 26-28 & January 2-4, 7:00am-6:00pm, ages 5 to 12, $85/3-day camp for members, $115/non-members. Register.


Young Naturalist Camp

Nature hikes, games, animal and plant studies, crafts and wildlife watching! Campers explore and learn about their natural world, personal creativity is encouraged, discoveries are shared by working together and having fun. Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, December 31-January 4, 9:00am-4:00pm, ages 5 to 6, $100. Register.
